We are looking for VDI Operations Specialist to join the Virtual Workplace team operating a complex setup across customers and technologies.
Our aim is to give our customers the best possible service and ensuring that our customers’ Citrix and VMware solutions are running smoothly. The main technologies we use are Citrix XenDesktop / XenApp / CVAD (various versions from 4.5 to 1903/1912), PVS, and VMware.
YOU WILL JOIN THE VIRTUAL WORKPLACE TEAM
You will be joining a team of 41 highly qualified colleagues operating from China, Denmark, the Czech Republic, and the Philippines.
The Virtual Workplace team is part of the Digital Workplace department responsible for everything from infrastructure and applications to complete orchestration and support of our customers’ IT solutions. Our work processes are based on best practices and our procedures follow ITIL standards (IT Infrastructure Library).
Virtual Workplace operates 24*7 globally but you will work mainly during normal business hours from Monday to Friday (9-17:30). The team also handles daytime shifts on weekends and have on-call duties (both on a rotating schedule). The on-call duties are placed during normal business hours from Mo - Fri. Apart from that a limited amount of work outside normal working hours should be expected, due to maintenance and upgrade of the customer environment.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A VDI OPERATIONS SPECIALIST
-2nd and 3rd level support
-The operative interface between Service Delivery Management, Customer, Development, Vendors, and other delivery units
-Responsibility for the incident, problem, change, escalation management handling
-Problem identification and root cause analysis hand-in-hand with system optimizations
-Identifying, maintaining, and performing periodic tasks on system environments
-Execute project and other deliverables in order to fulfill KPIs and management requests
-Act as Customer focal point, helps with continual service improvements
-Responsibility for operational documentation
-Image management and application packaging
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
You have experience in the operation of application virtualization on Citrix and related technologies. You have knowledge of WinOS, especially in relation to the optimization in virtual environments. It is your asset if you have knowledge of storage, network, server hardware, and security (antivirus, firewall).
As a Citrix support specialist you should be familiar with most of the following technologies:
-XenDesktop/XenApp 7.x environments
-Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 19.x environments
-Provisioning Services
-NetScaler (basic knowledge)
-Microsoft AD / GPO
-Microsoft WDS/MDT
-Windows Server (2012 R2, 2016, 2019)
-FSLogix, CUPM, WEM
-Application packaging (PSADT, MSIX)
You should also be:
Able to communicate in English; written as well as spoken
Able to think analytically, to work on multiple tasks in parallel while making the right prioritizations
Very good at communication
