Senior Network Engineer

Nexteria is a Switzerland based company. We opened a Branch office in Bratislava 5 years ago to help our local team remotely. We are looking for a passionate Senior Network Engineer to open this branch office.

Job brief

We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to develop and maintain functional and secure networks. You will be part of a virtual team shared between Switzerland and Slovakia. This team is providing Managed Services and IT Projects for our customers.

In this role, you should have excellent problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of network administration and architecture. If you’re also passionate about security and data protection, we’d like to meet you.

Your goal will be to establish networks that cater to customer needs.

Responsibilities

Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
Configure, maintain and install software, servers, routers and other network devices, including IP telephony
Monitor network performance and integrity
Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure
Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
Mentor team members on technical issues related to your expertise
Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)
Communicate with users when needed
Maintain complete technical documentation
Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
Requirements
Industry-related experience as a Senior Network Engineer or Network Administrator
Professional certification (e.g. CCIE or CCNP)
Solid background in network administration and architecture
In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF, spanning tree, etc..)
Familiarity with access control models and network security
Deep knowledge in Firewall technology, mainly Huawei, Cisco
Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. PRTG)
Windows System and VMware hypervisor are expected (vSphere)
Sharp troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently
Organizational and mentoring skills

You will have to deal every day with our customer and colleges in English. You must be fluent in reading/writing and talking. French knowledge will be a real plus in your competencies.

The interview will occur via conf call. If your profile is kept, you will have to travel to Geneva for the last interview.

You must also agree to travel to Switzerland several times per year. This position also requires to be part of our on call duty shift. This will occur on week per month maximum and it is fully compensated.
