Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
The Senior Accountant at NATEK will be responsible for establishing the internal accountancy and transferring the process from the external supplier, implementing accounting guidelines, direct participation in the accounting cycle and preparing financial documents/statements.
Moreover, the Senior Accountant will be in charge of all statutory processes including preparation of financial statements and tax reporting (VAT, CIT) for the Slovak and Czech entity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Management of statutory accounting for entities in Slovakia and Czech Republic
- Preparation of annual Financial Statement accordingly to relevant local rules and regulations
- Preparation of regular monthly, quarterly and annual statutory reports such as Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss and Cash Flow Report
- Ensure compliance with local accounting and tax regulations
- Coordination external audits, preparation of supporting documentation, ensuring proper filing of financial records
- Submitting tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records (bank statements and general ledger accounts), conduct and monitor month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Record and verify daily financial transactions in company’s accounting software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Booking of payroll and employee reimbursements
- Monitor and track expenses and revenues to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Perform administrative tasks related to financial record-keeping, such as filing and organizing financial documents
- Take part in implementing and developing finance and accounting systems
- Assist with external contacts, e.g. with financial institutions (bank), tax advisors

- Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least 5 years of working experience in accounting (with relevant experience for the position)
- Fluency in Slovak and English, other language is a plus
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial regulations
- Experience in using accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and to build strong working relationships
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong MS Office skills (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow in the accounting field
