Job description, responsibilities and duties
The Implementation Engineer (IE) provides the engineering functions to implement Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) or other specifically requested and agreed technology during site deployments of voice gateways or other related technology in delivering world class solutions.
- Assist with technical elements for on-site remedial actions
- Review technical documents and implementation documents and provide input if necessary
- Request IP addresses and VLANs to be implemented and firewalls to be opened, request LAN ports, DNS changes or any other related requests
- Review orders and equipment order lists technically prior to order placement
- Tests circuits with suppliers, test gateways configuration
- Raise technical change requests, for installs and migrations or other relevant activities
- Attend pre-install meeting and assist to resolve issues determined relevant for successful installation or project completion
- Support equipment installation remotely and document implementation schedules, liaise with other 3rd parties to assist in migrations
- Complete technical and asset databases as required
- Support migrations and first days of operations
- Test hardware installs with NCR, or other 3rd party suppliers remotely
- Support senior engineers with any technical queries relevant to project assignment
- Manage all technical interfaces within the agreed stage gate delivery model and act as a technical consultant to all parties
- Coordinate and oversee technical activities with Vendors, Customer, on-site support, other bundle supplier, Telco providers

- Experience with delivery of Telecom Projects and Network/Voice implementation - IPT, WAN & LAN
- Knowledge of traditional TDM Voice telephony and IP telephony
- Knowledge and experience of Cisco networking
- Knowledge and practical experience of working with telecommunications carriers: circuit types, circuit interfaces, circuit problems
- Good knowledge of the telecommunication market is an advantage
- Knowledge or previous experience with Skype for Business is an advantage
