Job description, responsibilities and duties

Network Design Lead Architect is responsible for the Network outsourcing solution design throughout the engagement life cycle, both for new customer engagements as well as for engagements with the installed customer base. Closely cooperates with delivery, portfolio and product marketing resources in order to build the most optimized solution in terms of cost, price and risk. When required, he/she acts as an interlock between the company and the Client to ensure the proposed network service solution addresses the customer’s business needs and can be delivered at the best possible cost.

Responsibilities

• Manages all deliverables:
− Solution quality (Bill of materials, bill of labor, transition approach)
− Solution delivery feasibility
− Risk mitigation
− Financials (upon personal agreement)
− Alignment of Client requirements to company services
• Leads Architects contributing to the NW solution on a day-to-day basis to manage assignments, schedule and deliverables.
• Prepares for and facilitates solution governance and approval reviews.
• Validates and approves all deliverables for the NW solutions.
• Closely interfaces with the Account team
• Provides guidance and direction to the Architects or Account SMEs.
• Delivers solution, cost/pricing models, and proposal content efficiently, effectively, and timely.
• Provides market price information for the technical solution.
• Ensures solution is complete, sound and costed accurately.
• Knowledgeable of the technical aspects of the Account (i.e., network, hosting, desktop, security etc.)
• Experienced in designing and delivering solutions for real clients.
• Clearly articulates solutions for the Account Architects and Delivery Engineers and explains why the solution is what it is and why that approach is of value to the client (understands the pros and cons of the solution). Can explain how does the solution meets the client's goals and objectives.
• While possessing good technical knowledge, they must have a developed business acumen.
• Understands and can readily articulate how their NW solution integrates with the larger holistic solution for the client.
• Understands and can articulate all aspects of transition/transformation/migration from the current situation to the proposed end state. This includes major milestones, timelines and manpower (both supplier and client).
• Understands and can articulate the solution from a people resource perspective
• Understands and can articulate all aspects of Financial and Operational Responsibility Matrix
• Understands and can articulate their part of the ongoing delivery and Governance.
• Ensures company' delivery plan meets client and company' expectations.
• Ensures solution components align with standards and best practices.
• Ensures cost and pricing models align with standards and best practices.
• Delivers high-quality and complete proposal documents.
• Keeps to the schedule.
• Identifies resource issues and escalates to the Solution Lead.
• Minimizes issues and inconsistencies.

• Procurement
• Account Finance
• Program / Project managers
• Architects / SMEs / Delivery Engineers

Qualification

• At least 7 or more years’ experience in technical solution design for complex IT environments, ideally in commercial deals
• Extensive project management experience in IT environment
• In-depth knowledge of network technologies, services and industry (Switching/Routing, Network Security, Carrier Market and services, Telephony (Traditional/IPT/Unified Communications), Network Management)
• Knowledgeable about other platforms (Windows / Linux / Apps / …) and their linkage with network
• Proven capability of designing network services proposals for large opportunities ($500k and above)
