Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Donor Care Assistant will work with and assist the Resource Development (fundraising) team to increase and maintain resources from companies, foundation, istitutions and major donors for HFHI global programs. In addition to maintaining accurate records on partnership and donors, this position researches new possible donors with the goal of increasing in the number and value of partnerships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

RESEARCH AND DONOR SUPPORT: (20%)
• Research new fundraising opportunities and draft related donor profiles.
• Research, analyze and prepare reports as required on donor trends and preferences in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
• Working with the Habitat program teams, Habitat area offices and Habitat country staff and the resource development team, support fundraising in all possible ways including the preparation of concept papers and proposal writing for corporate and foundation fundraising opportunities;

DONOR INFORMATION MANAGEMENT: (35%)
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate donor records for regional and national donors in HFHI's donor database (BBEC);
• Coordinate as needed with other relevant HFHI teams and offices to facilitate cross-border corporate and foundations fundraising efforts;
• Ensure proper and consistent flow of information to other relevant HFHI teams and offices, and donors, using a variety of techniques and tools, including BBEC;
• Keep accurate records on projects and income
• Provide regular donor giving reports to the resource development team and senior staff as requested

DONOR RELATIONSHIP SUPPORT: (40%)
• Support accurate account management and data entry for specific Corporate, Foundation, Institutional and Major Donor partnerships
• Develop and maintain PowerPoint templates to be used with various donors to ensure long term commitment from corporate partners
• Ensure the smooth running of partnerships and maintain relations with donors by ensuring reporting deadlines are met, partnerships are renewed on time, invoices are issued and funds are received, press releases and web updates are done and other related aspects;
• Support the planning, promotion and development of donor events (e.g., corporate volunteer teams, donor visits). Ensure volunteer teams include all of the donor's requests;

FUNDRAISING COMMUNICATIONS: (5%)
• Prepare initial cold emails to companies
• Ensure donor communication plans are followed
• Monitor and update donor write-ups on Habitat's website and all promotional materials in collaboration with the communications team

RESULTS EXPECTED:
• Increased contribution to core fundraising income from corporates, foundations, institutions and major donors
• Support an increase in the number and value of agreed corporate partnerships
• Timely preparation of documents and reports
• Efficient monitoring of resources
• Resources database kept up-to-date

REQUIREMENTS:
• Willingness to communicate and afirm the Christian roots and principles of HFHI;
• Fluency in English required;
• Strong organizational and analytical skills;
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills;
• Proficiency in email, internet, word-processing, database and spreadsheet maintenance, and PowerPoint;
• Internet research experience or data compilation/analysis;
• Good interpersonal and inter-cultural skills;

PREFERRED:
• Experience writing proposals and reports preferred.
• Experience in NGO field preferred.
• Experience maintaining external partnerships preferred.
• Language skills in French or German.
• Experience working in a multi-national, multi-cultural environment.
• Interest in housing development; international development; poverty issues.
