Senior Scientist ─ NGS and Molecular Biology

We are seeking an accomplished and self-drivenSenior Scientist with deep expertise in Molecular Biology and/or Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) to join our growing R&D team. This is a senior-level position offering the opportunity to lead the design, execution, and optimization of RNA-based diagnostic experiments.

As a scientific leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our pipeline of RNA diagnostics. You will tackle complex technical challenges, evaluate novel approaches, and drive innovation in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of forward-thinking researchers.

The position will be based at the headquarters in Bratislava, Slovakia located at the modern Comenius University Science Park.

Responsibilities:

• ​Team leadership and supervision responsibilities​
• Independently design, execute, and refine cutting-edge NGS experiments, with a focus on RNA and small RNA workflows
• Apply advanced molecular biology techniques, including RNA extraction/purification, PCR/qPCR, RNA/small RNA library preparation, and quality control (NanoDrop™, Qubit™, Bioanalyzer/Tapestation)
• Troubleshoot complex experimental issues and drive solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  Operate and maintain laboratory & analytical equipment​
  
• Contribute to the generation and evaluation of new concepts in RNA-based diagnostics
• Analyze, interpret, and present data to internal teams and external stakeholders
• Draft experimental protocols, SOPs, technical documentation, and research publications
• Present research findings in manuscripts, at conferences, and to potential partners​
• Stay abreast of recent developments in RNA NGS and their applications in clinical diagnostics​
