Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

Our biotech company, MultiplexDX, aims to use the latest advance in molecular biology and the power of transcriptomics to develop novel molecular diagnostic tools for diagnosing diseases such as cancer.
After successfully completing our EIC Accelerator grant, we are planning a large-scale retrospective validation of our molecular diagnostic test for breast cancer called Multiplex8+. This test uses advances in spatial biology to both visualize and sequence a panel of RNA based biomarkers to differentiate subtypes of breast cancer, stratify patients into prognostic risk groups, and evaluate the sensitivity or resistance to diverse treatments ranging from chemotherapies, targeted therapies, and novel antibody drug-conjugates.
Our overarching aim is to augment the patient journay with our precision oncology tools to facilitate personalized, effective, and life-saving treatment plans.

The position:
We are looking for a Bioinformatician to participate in designing and analyzing both next generation sequencing (NGS) and third-generation sequencing (e.g., nanopore) experiments.
In this multifaceted role, you will help advance our pipeline of diagnostic products by analyzing large and complex NGS and long-read data sets, developing software tools and algorithms for automated analysis pipelines, solving technical obstacles, producing rich data visualizations and written reports, and generating new ideas in collaboration with our R&D team.
The posting is for a full-time position and is based in the headquarters in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Responsibilities:
• Work in the R&D team to design and analyze NGS and nanopore sequencing experiments.
• Help develop software and bioinformatic tools to advance automated analysis pipelines.
• Manage and update computational pipelines on cloud-based high-performance computing systems.
• Make data-driven decisions to advance diagnostic pipelines and refine bioinformatic analysis tools.
• Effectively communicate results with internal and external stakeholders using rich data visualizations, oral/written reports, and scientific publications.

Employee perks, benefits

We offer a great career with development opportunities in a highly motivating and professional environment. You may be looking for a new career path or simply looking to contribute to a small, hard-working organization with the ambition to make a difference.
You will be offered the opportunity to spearhead the next ground-breaking diagnostic technologies involving RNA-based NGS.
The job will be challenging and rewarding at the same time. You will have world class colleagues, flexible working hours, 4 weeks of paid holiday, and a negotiable salary commensurate to your qualifications (starting from €2500/month Gross pay).
