Job description, responsibilities and duties


You will demonstrate excellence in structural design, preparation of structural briefing and specification documents, production of calculations and be able to inspire and mentor the wider structural team.

Responsibilities of the role will include but not be limited to:

  • Involvement in planning and designing underground/heavy works
  • Preparation of detailed design calculations and drawings for main civil and underground works and involvement in drawing productions, design feasibilities and interfaces between key structural elements above and below ground
  • Taking a lead on a portfolio of projects ensuring that project design solutions are delivered to the highest standards and meet program and budgetary constraints
  • Planning, design and implementation of complex infrastructure projects
  • Planning resourcing of projects and monitoring against budgets
  • Preparing and monitoring work programs to deliver projects to deadlines
  • Providing specialist technical support to other staff
  • Lead a team of structural engineers and act as mentor to junior staff

Candidate Specification

  • Track record of delivering structural engineering projects to quality, budget and timescales
  • To act as a technically strong expert working within large teams or managing your own projects simultaneously
  • Degree qualified in structural engineering
  • Chartered Engineer
  • Experience of planning and monitoring project programs to budgets and resources ensuring delivery to time and cost constraints
  • Proven experience of the design and detailing of large scale underground reinforced concrete structures is required
  • Conversant with design programmes i.e. SAP 2000, STAAD Pro, Robot, SAFE etc. Also, conversant with CAD/Revit and delivering projects in BIM
  • Ambitious and self motivated
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and clients (written and verbal) in ENGLISH and preferably in HUNGARIAN
