You are responsible for ensuring that projects are successfully completed on time and on budget. This includes project governance, budget and timeline development, build quality, testing and operational readiness, and the completed project’s readiness to go live.
Purpose of the role:
The MEU Transportation Capability Manager is responsible to co-lead the MEU transportation strategy development, with a special focus on driving domestic outbound process standardization and transportation planning tools development and harmonization. The Transportation Capability Manager collaborates with Logistic Control Center and Areas to identify shipping cost reductions opportunities, define regional best practices and benchmark Areas performances. The role imply a strong collaboration with Logistic Procurement to set long term collaboration strategy with carriers. Transportation Capability Manager leads the transpiration sustainability agenda (intermodal development, transportation de-carbonization).

Main Responsibilities:
- Co-lead long term transportation strategy
- Co-lead TMS strategic roadmap and further roll-out for domestic and outbound (either for this role or for the TMS project manager)
- Define outbound transport planning standardized approaches and drive harmonization of domestic outbound transportation processes into standards defined (focus on outbound, as already existing in int. IB/LCC)
- Coordinate transportation tools development
- Lead the MEU transportation innovation agenda
- Collaborate with LCC on Transportation productivity identification (international inbound)
- Collaborate with Areas on Transportation productivity identification (domestic inbound & outbound)
- Identify benchmarking for transportation in MEU and between Regions
- Develop with procurement the long-term collaboration strategy with carriers, both domestic & international
- Create an MEU specific transportation playbook, a regionalized version of the existing global transportation playbook (focus on outbound)
- Lead sustainability program (incl. reporting and road mapping) for transportation (intermodal and alternative fuel)

Personality requirements and skills
- Master degree-required
- Minimum 10 years of management experience within large multinational companies in Transportation, preferable across multiple geographical and business environments
- Management experience in shipping companies/3PLs highly valuable
- Strategic thinking plus excellent presentation, communication, influencing and stakeholders management skills
- Entrepreneurial and risk taking attitude
- Fair combination of Field and HQ experience. Preferred experience in a center of excellence leadership role
- Expert in transportation with proven experience managing/setting up control towers, including transportation management systems, process and organization
- Project Management mastery required.
- Experience/understanding of Agile methodology
- Experience/understanding of transportation modelling and optimization
- Experience/understanding of continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean and 6Sigma
