How you will contribute

The Global Data Management Product & Customer Governance Lead is a member of the Data Governance Leadership Team and has E2E accountability to develop and boost the global data governance strategy and framework across the enterprise for the specific MD domains inside the position's scope. The Governance Lead will outline and ensure the adoption of the MD standards, policies and controls. Moreover, S/He will be responsible to build and run the MD governance council to steer standardization, CI, quality levels and other MD related activities. The Governance Lead has a crucial role to educate leadership and the organization in different levels on data/MD principles and concepts to gain accountability and sponsorship from Business functions and IBS on the MD governance agenda. All these responsibilities must be embedded within the MDLZ digital and data transformation vision and in association with enterprise data roles (Functions and IBS) following the global data governance framework.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own, enhance, maintain and champion Global MD Governance policies, processes, standards, and guidelines based on Internal & Industry standards and best practices
  • Provide guidance and ensure adoption of MD standards, data model and other related within global programs/projects
  • Evaluate and recommend organizational requirements to enable a sustainable governance practice
  • Define and proactively drive data quality improvement initiatives in adherance to data protection standards and in partnership with the DMS Data Quality and regional teams
  • Educate business on the purpose of data governance and drive acceptance and adoption of data governance best practices
  • Conduct Global Domain Governance councils to foster a cross-functional and collaborative agenda with data stewards, data custodians, and other data roles
  • Partner with Internal Control (IC) Team to establish the control standards and framework
  • Evolve Data Governance through Continues Improvement (CI) initiatives
  • Establish and Lead the execution of the Master Data governance road map in alignment with the enterprise digital and data programs
  • Responsible for the health and success of the Data Governance Programs and all their related initiatives/projects
  • Steer the governance by value concept implementation across the enterprise to prevent value leakage in collaboration with the DMS regional teams
  • Define/recommend ways of working, tools, framework and others for the governance by value adoption
  • Evaluate and develop program to increase and drive the skills and competency of your direct reports to elevate MD knowledge and professionalism

Personality requirements and skills

Candidate Profile:

We seek a dynamic and commercially oriented data professional with a strong track record leading the design and implementation of successful data Governance, process improvement at the global level in multi-national business. Ability to set overall governance strategy in her/his Master Data Domains and measure progresses through tangible business outcomes and specific business metrics. Passionate to champion and advocate the work of the Data Stewards and Data Owners with the intent of eliminating barriers between business units and functions providing advocacy for the time spent and value generated on governance efforts. This is a critical leadership position and s/he will be excited by the opportunity to drive business transformation and challenge and improve existing data governance business models.

Knowledge, Experience and Education:

  • Knowledge of Master Data operations & how master data are leveraged to create business outcomes
  • Proven experience partnering with RDQ/Supply Chain /Finance/Commercial teams in delivering internally master data services and externally digital product data to customers across most demanding markets
  • 10+years of professional experience in business processes operations, with relevant experience in Master Data Management & process transformation, ideally in the consumer goods industry
  • 5+years in master data roles in large global/regional teams including leadership and accountability to lead and develop direct teams
  • Direct Business experience in functional areas within Finance, Supply Chain, Sales or related commercial functions is a plus
  • Familiar operating in large and complex multi-national organizations to create alignment for her/his strategic priorities across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in working across functions with ability to interact effectively with and be credible with Senior leadership
  • Degree in Data Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in SAP MDG, PIM solutions and/or other product data solutions.
  • DAMA certifications and SAP S/4 knowledge is a plus
  • English Proficiency mandatory and any applicable local language is a plus
