Job description, responsibilities and duties
Key Accountabilities:
• The Merck Network Operations Center (NOC) element covering the European time zones (follow-the-sun) is located in Bratislava, Slovakia. The key accountabilities for this position include:
• Manage team of network analysts in day-to-day operations
• Investigate, diagnose and resolve network incidents and problems using available tools and referring to external suppliers if required
• Support the project team in building and integrating the new infrastructure into the existing network as well as supporting related service development processes by performing the technical transition into operation
• Acting as interface between operation and project team
• Keep leadership informed of network operations through monthly KPI reporting, ad-hoc outage reporting and other relevant metric

Work Experience:
• Prior experience in a Necurity Operations Center (NOC) detecting and responding to network incidents preferred
• Experience with a wide range of network technologies (i.e. switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers)
• Experience in field of IT mandatory
Job-Specific Competencies & Skills:
• English language competency
• Knowledge of IT and Networking concepts
• Knowledge of ITSM tools (ie ServiceNow) in daily operations and reporting
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and IEEE 802.Ethernet-protocol-suite as well as routing related protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VRRP, etc.)
• Palo Alto Networks, Juniper and Cisco firewall experience preferred
• Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Highly developed interpersonal and teamwork skills
