Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Finance Associate will provide a full range of financial, and administrative support to IRI’s Bratislava office if, and when required. S/he will work alongside the Resident Program Director and other staff to ensure the smooth running of activities. The Finance Associate will report directly to the Resident Program Director.

The Finance Associate is responsible for assisting the Resident Program Director and the Office with the administrative tasks, tracking program budgets, ensuring that expenditures remain within budget allocations and general policy and that reporting requirements are met and comply with all applicable USG and other donor regulations.

• Primary Functions & Responsibilities:
• Fulfill regular reporting requirements and overall financial operations of the Bratislava office and ensure compliance with IRI and Funder’s policies;
• Conducts financial operations in internal software (JAMIS);
• Prepare monthly rolling budgets, monthly exchange rate calculations, monitor monthly spending and program budgets;
• Prepare and supervise all types of bank transactions in the office (payments of salaries, supplier’s invoices and other office payments);
• Prepare and supervise expense and cash advance reconciliations;
• Ensure that all IRI documents (documents, archives, equipment, furniture, etc.) are well protected at all time and that the inventory list is revised and updated;
• Coordinate procurement and contract negotiation and ensuring that all contracts are processed for renewal or termination before the expiration date;
• Coordinate ordering supplies;
• Reporting to external Accounting and Payroll company

New person will be fully trained for all necessary Procedures and Policies.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Educational Specialization

finance/accounting/economy or related field

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Other knowledge

Microsoft Word - Basic
Microsoft Excel - Advanced
Microsoft Outlook - Basic

Experience in the position/sector

Previous experience not required but is an advantage

The position is suitable for a fresh graduate

• Strong organizational skills, self-discipline and attention to detail required.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team to coordinate and lead the efforts of other professionals to effectively meet program goals.
• Ability to manage diverse activities and to meet deadlines required
