Job description, responsibilities and duties
OVERVIEW
• Reporting to the Data Analyst Manager; responsible for a team of manufacturing/production supervisors and operators
• Responsibility for the day-to-day running of a production area using CNC machinery and part automated processes to
manufacture moulded plywood and laminate furniture components.
• Organizing work to production plans to meet deadlines and maximize efficiency
• Managing and training of supervisors and operators
• Liaising with other staff and Departments
• Managing and overseeing CNC and Tooling departments
• Adherence to quality and health & safety standards
• Act as a positive link between production teams and management.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conducting , attending and contributing to meetings
• Conducting meetings within own team to inform members of relevant information drawn from daily operations
meeting.
• Allocate team workload in accordance with management instruction, monitoring progress to meet timescales
• Monitoring and managing productions according to the production plan
• Conduct regular quality, efficiency and housekeeping audits
• Timely report quality and efficiency non-conformances to management
• Develop and maintain a high level of competency in using various equipment, tools and processes within area of
responsibility, attending formal training where necessary
• Train, coach and counsel, supervisors and operators
• Record department training in accordance with organizational and quality requirements
• Enable a relaxed climate for communication, mutual trust and respect within team
• Create interdependence within team
• Manage team supplies and equipment
• Undertake and support improvement initiatives and special projects as required
• Adherence to and giving of instructions (written and verbal)
• Handling staff issues, i.e. absence, time-keeping, performance, discipline and grievance in accordance with legal and
organisational requirements
• Adherence to quality standards including monitoring and recording product quality
• Working to timescales and deadlines given
• Maintaining production, quality and staff records of work in accordance with business needs
• Investigating quality failures and poor performance
• Keeping Management informed of any deviations to production plans
• Maintaining work area and tools used in clean and tidy manner
• Ensuring that machines maintenance is done to the correct standards
• Ensuring own and Team adherence to Health and Safety Policy and Procedures
