About the Role

The primary job function of a Material Coordinator is to support and reinforce production schedules and customer needs when the primary contact is not available.  This includes any issues related to production shortages, schedule changes, expedite deliveries, customer changes or inventory accuracy. Responsible for supporting safety, quality, and productivity while adhering to KAMTEK’s plant standards and upholding the Magna Employee’s Charter.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Use ERP System (CMS) as the Primary means of monitoring, adjusting and trending stock levels.
  2. Determine appropriate stock levels and required space for individual parts, aid in creating layouts and picking routes for material delivery
  3. Work closely with all departments and groups within the organization that impact inventory accuracy to determine root cause for inventory inaccuracies
  4. Analyze schedule requirements and propose solutions when schedule changes are required, support production schedules on the off shifts when planner(s) are not available
  5. Perform cycle counts as needed to support production and validate inventory accuracy
  6. Clearly communicate all deviations, shortages or overages that occur during the shift and the reasons for the changes to support carrying the solution forward to the next shift
  7. Audit production and scrap reports for accuracy and validating the entries into the ERP system
  8. Aid in creating process flow diagrams and work instructions as they relate to projects assigned
  9. Communicate as needed with suppliers and transportation companies to ensure on hand availability of parts and prevent down time
  10. Assist the planners in identifying production and forecast trends to help predict future scheduling needs and stocking requirements
  11. Ensure continual material flow into all required locations
Who we are looking for

-Ability to work in a team environment or independently to perform duties with little supervision.

-Ability to communicate with team members on all shifts and possess good mathematical and   organizational skills.

-Ability to adequately perform all above job requirements within the timeframe allotted to support the internal/external customer needs

-The environment is high pressure and requires extreme accuracy and attention to detail

-The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with team members, leaders, customers and suppliers

-Overtime as required

-Basic Mathematical skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, fractions, percentages.

-Self-starter with the ability to formulate a project and see it through to its conclusion

-Decision making abilities to create a win, win, win situation in support of the three legged stool (Customer, Investor, People)

- Well developed interpersonal, organizational, communication (verbal & written), presentation and negotiation skills

Your preferred qualifications

KNOWLEDGE

EDUCATION:  High School Diploma or GED required. One to two years of related automotive experience.

General knowledge of Production Planning, Inventory Control and ERP

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

WHAT TYPES?  Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, Forklift operation and product delivery is mandatory.

HOW MUCH?  6-12 months.
