Welder/Fabricator

Fabricate and weld any projects required from Assembly, Press, or Cradles. The Welder/ Fabricator is responsible for welding on all types of steels and castings. The Welder/Fabricator is also responsible for fabricating tools, jigs and fixtures for the production areas. 

1. Fabrication of tools, jigs and fixtures
2. Must be able to work from blueprints or sketches
3. Must be able to design and make tools, fixtures and fittings.
4.  Has working knowledge of preheating steel or casting and welding rods.
5.  To make up all types of elements as required.
6.  Maintain all welding equipment.
7.  Operates a variety of small machines, tools, and equipment.
8.  To flame harden and flame cut as required.
9.  Promotes good housekeeping (5S) TPM
10.  Perform other duties as required.
11.  Operate a forklift and overhead crane.

EDUCATION: 

• High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year Associates Degree from accredited technical college is preferred, or equivalent experience
• One to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

TECHNICAL TRAINING: Mig/ Tig / Arc Welding

WORK EXPERIENCE

WHAT TYPES?  Strong technical background; previous experience with welding/fabricating

HOW MUCH?  Minimum 3 years in heavy industrial environment

Ability to work in a team environment

-Must have a working knowledge of basic drafting (blueprint reading, dimension drawings, etc.)

-Must have an understanding of basic engineering practices and functions

-Ability to perform basic engineering calculations

-Ability to use hand tools and small machines

-Must be willing to work extended, weekends, or flexible hours as required to meet production needs

-Must have excellent organizational and communication skills

-Must have basic computer knowledge

-Must have good analytical skills

-Ability to oversee projects from start to finish
