Job description, responsibilities and duties
* A multinational, life sciences company is searching for an experienced BI Application Support Lead to establish a new BI team who will be responsible for improving the performance and reliability of the BI system by conducting regular system optimizations, updates, and maintenance. Your primary duties as a BI Application Support Lead encompass:
* Develop and implement project plans that align with the organisation’s strategic goals. Manage the entire project lifecycle, from initiation through to deployment and support,
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of developers, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and innovation. Allocate resources effectively and set clear team objectives,
* Act as the main point of contact for project stakeholders, including business units and IT leadership. Ensure transparent communication regarding project progress, risks, and outcomes,
* Utilise deep understanding of business processes and technology to identify opportunities for process improvement. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of business operations,
* Oversee the quality of deliverables, ensuring they meet predefined standards and business requirements. Implement rigorous testing and QA processes to ensure the reliability and performance of solutions,
* Proactively identify and mitigate project risks. Develop and maintain comprehensive risk management plans to ensure smooth project execution,
* Manage relationships with external vendors and partners, ensuring alignment with project goals and company standards. Oversee procurement and integration of third-party solutions as needed.

* Proficient in BI tools and technologies (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, SAP BI),
* Strong understanding of database management systems, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data warehousing principles,
* Familiarity with programming languages used in data analysis and reporting, such as SQL, Python, or R,
* Knowledge of cloud computing services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their application in BI solutions,
* Several years of experience in BI or a related field, with a track record of managing BI projects successfully,
* Experience in data modelling, analysis, and reporting,
* Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including data protection and privacy laws,
* Strong knowledge of project management principles and methodologies, including Agile and Scrum,
* Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and team management skills,
* Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships across all levels of an organization,
* Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and projects,
* Proficiency in risk management and change management,
* Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities,
* A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field,
* Advanced degrees (e.g., master’s in business administration or information Systems) is a plus,
* Itil 4, Prince 2 or SAFe CSP Certification is a plus.
