Job description, responsibilities and duties

Our client, Science 37, has revolutionized clinical trial industry by developing technology-based platform to enable delivery of virtual clinical trials by bringing clinical trials to patients' homes. Backed by venture investors such as Glynn Capital, Google Ventures, Redmile Group, dRx Capital and Lux Capital, Science 37 are revolutionizing the clinical trial industry. To help Science 37 achieve that goal, we are seeking BD Associate responsible for new customer acquisition for Science 37 services globally.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Cold calling and email outreach; making multiple outbound attempts to potential clients
2. Understanding client needs and offering solutions and support
3. Researching potential leads from business directories, web searches, or digital resources
4. Qualifying leads from digital campaigns, conferences, references, tradeshows, etc.
5. Creating and maintaining a list/database of prospect clients
6. Presenting and delivering information to potential clients
7. Answering potential client questions and follow-up call questions
8. Triaging new leads to business development directors
9. Tracking weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance and sales metrics
10. Building pipelines with channel partners and team members to close sales
11. Maintaining database (Salesforce, CRM, Excel, etc.) of prospective client information
12. Closing sales and working with client through closing process

QUALIFICATIONS
The following qualifications are preferred and/or equivalent applicable experience:
1. College diploma or equivalent degree
2. 1-3 years of experience working in customer service
3. Familiarity with negotiation, upselling and other sales tactics
4. Comfortable making cold calls and talking to new people all day
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to call, connect and interact with
potential customers
6. Persuasive and goal-oriented
7. Possesses an energetic, outgoing, and friendly demeanor
8. Eager to expand company with new sales, clients, and territories
9. Self-motivated and self-directed
10. Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
11. In-depth understanding of company services and its position in the industry
12. Tenacity to handle rejection and continue on with a positive attitude when reaching next potential client
13. Knowledge of sales process from initiation to close
14. Strong knowledge of clinical research including understanding of critical elements for success in clinical trials; participation in and contribution to these activities.
15. Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
16. Previous experience in outbound call center, inside sales experience, or related sales experience preferred
17. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and CRM/Salesforce experience preferred

CAPABILITIES
1. Position may require some international travel (as needed), for project team
meetings, client presentations, and other professional meetings/conferences (as needed).
2. Ability to communicate in English (both verbal and written)

REPORTING
The incumbent reports to the Vice President of Business Development and will need to establish and maintain strong collaborations with internal business partners within Sales and Marketing.
