EMEA Indirect Tax Assistant Manager

What do you need to succeed in this opportunity

- Strong knowledge of VAT legislation and regulations across the EMEA region and proven ability to interpret complex tax laws and provide practical, business-oriented solutions.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in indirect tax advisory and/or compliance, preferably in a multinational or Big Four environment.
- Extensive experience in VAT compliance, reporting, and payments within EMEA.
- High level of responsibility and accountability with the ability to work independently.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized approach; ability to manage multiple tasks and address tax issues in a broader business context and be a team player with a proactive and flexible attitude.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with SAP, Sabrix, or Onesource is an advantage.

What will you do

As an EMEA Indirect Tax Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in both strategic VAT advisory and operational VAT compliance across 48 countries in the EMEA region. You will report to the EMEA Indirect Tax Senior Manager and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with evolving VAT legislation, support business initiatives, optimize Lenovo’s indirect tax position, and manage VAT compliance processes.

What You'll Do:
- Provide expert VAT advisory across EMEA, including guidance on new products, services, and business models.
- Monitor and interpret VAT legislation changes, assess business impact, and advise on risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with external advisors and tax authorities on complex VAT matters, and review contracts/commercial arrangements from a VAT perspective.
- Assist in developing and implementing VAT-efficient supply chain models while supporting business teams with VAT-related queries and transactional structuring.
- Partner with the EMEA Indirect Tax Senior Manager on 2,400+ VAT compliance filings and related reporting processes.
- Review VAT returns prepared by third-party providers, authorize indirect tax filings/payments, and assist with VAT and turnover account reconciliations.
- Coordinate responses to tax inquiries and VAT audits with finance teams and external advisors, while maintaining internal VAT control processes (filings, payments, receivables, checklists, tax controls).
- Leverage compliance processes to optimize VAT positions across EMEA, monitor legislative changes, and provide ad hoc VAT compliance support to business teams.

Salary offer (gross):
From 2 650 EUR/monthBase gross monthly salary from minimum 2650 EUR and above, depending on experience + variable part 12% of your annual earnings.
