Job description, responsibilities and duties

As a Logistics digital 4.0 engineer you will lead and support the role out of new ideas / processes that will transform the way we work today. You will need to be able to work with large data sets to define project opportunities and opportunities for new technology. You will work as part of a cross-functional team to provide detailed analysis related to facility / process optimization and capacity planning while also leading improvement projects.

Additionally, you will:
• Support optimization models for warehousing inventory capacity and inbound/outbound processes
• Evaluate effectiveness of current or future logistical processes.
• Provide logistics technology or information for effective and efficient support of product, equipment, or system manufacturing or service.
• Develop logistic metrics, internal analysis tools, or key performance indicators for users
• Develop specifications for equipment, tools, facility layouts, or material-handling systems.
• Identify cost-reduction or process-improvement logistic opportunities.
• Optimize operational efficiencies through Identifying opportunities to improve or enhance processes through new / existing technologies
• Conduct logistics studies or analyses, such as time studies, zero-base analysis, rate of flow analysis, or supply chain analyses.
• Procurement and prepare business case documents.
• Carryout workshops and feedback sessions with the wider European MP&L teams
What Skills You Need
• We need an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, who thrives on solving problems and working in a global team environment.
• Experience with AutoCAD, simulation and office apps
• Exposure to manufacturing plant and warehouse distribution environment

Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you in the right team include:
• Project management experience in a factory and/or industrial environment
• Experience maintaining and understanding material flow / material systems
• Experience with warehouse management/control systems.
• Use of technologies, such as global positioning systems (GPS), radio-frequency identification (RFID), route navigation software, or satellite linkup systems, and transportation efficiencies.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Logistics, Electrical, or Mechanical), Analytics, or a similar mathematics-based discipline (Desirable)
