Job description, responsibilities and duties

Direct the manufacturing and operating activities towards the accomplishment of organisation objectives. Develop and recommend manufacturing and operating policy.
Responsible for the plan for capital expenditures for the Plant to ensure that long term growth, continuous improvements and manufacturing commitments are met by the Plant.
Responsible for planning for necessary process improvements to ensure that the plant is able to meet production requirements in the most modern way.
Manages production, customer quality, distribution and on time delivery of customer orders in accordance with policies, principles and procedures established by the Company.
To develop budgets, forecasts and investment plans to be followed up throughout the RF period. To balance short-term profit against long-term objectives.
To translate the BA strategy into local strategic action plans. To carry out the strategies, action plans and budget for the operation unit mutually established with the local management group.
To develop an efficient and skilled organisation with a clear assignment of responsibilities and duties. To secure optimal usage of own resources.
Direct the preparation of specifications for quality, quantity, delivery and service required for purchase of plant equipment, supplies and materials to meet production schedules and quality standards.
Facilitates lean and six sigma processes to reduce waste and variability to ensure continuous improvement.
Ensures a two-tier succession plan is in place for the Plant, develops, and utilizes the Leadership Pipeline within the Plant.
To ensure observance of the quality management systems accordance with IATF-16949 and ISO-14001, ISO 45001 through clearly defined assignments of responsibility and duties towards other managers within the operational unit.
Formulate and install standard manufacturing practices based on comparative studies of methods, costs and production figures.
Ensure the operational unit conforms to local and national governmental regulations and those set down by Kongsberg Automotive.
To co-ordinate regular team reviews to make sure that the necessary corrective action are being taken on the basis of sufficient analyses and expert knowledge. To arrange in order of priority and to allocate resources to meet the short-term and long-term objectives.

Communicative and ability to represent the company.
Lean manufacturing principles.
Strong leadership and people skills; ability to draw people together.
Strong communicator at all levels and in all media is essential.
Good financial acumen; financials beyond balance sheet and P&L.
Able to travel as needed both internationally and domestically (up to 20%).

Proven track record in an operational / plant management role, with people responsibility, in a manufacturing environment.
Management profile and high degree of personal integrity and confidence.
Driven to achieve results.
Ability to make quick decisions based on experience and analysis as well as advice from other people and colleagues.
To have a systematic approach to dealing with issues that challenge the desired procedures or performance of the department, while being mindful of the department’s objectives and KPI’s
