Supervisor/Operations Manager junior - Start up

The Production Supervisor and Planner is an integral part of our Operations Teams who manages and coordinates activities of the hourly workforce and ensures a supply of purchased materials in a timely manner. The Production Supervisor will interface with all levels of management and employees in a team-based environment.

This position is an excellent developmental position for candidates aspiring to advance to an Operations Manager position within Jacobs or Fortive.


• Responsible for developing an engaged and motivated work force.
• Lead, manage, improve the performance of the production department via Daily Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), or metrics (safety, quality, delivery, inventory, cost).
• Maintain a safe work environment. Complete regular audits to maintain current safe practices and identify and implement opportunities to proactively reduce safety risk. Investigate accidents and near misses.
• Meet customer quality requirements. Understand and comply with internal quality process and procedures. Improve quality metrics through reductions in process variation.
• Interact with customer to determine delivery requirements and develop production plans.
• Manage material ordering process to meet customer delivery needs and internal production plan. Identify and implement actions to improve inventory metrics.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.


• Knowledge and experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
• Proven track record for delivering results - meeting deadlines and working under pressure
o Ability to achieve on-time-delivery metrics to all customers
o Ability to increase manufacturing productivity and efficiency
o Ability to improve inventory metrics
• Ability to think analytically and ability to translate vision into action
• Must be able to learn and utilize FBS/Lean tools including Kaizens to lead/implement process improvements
• Ability to maintain positive employee and labor relations
• Team leadership and alignment skills - Ability to manage a diverse group of people and motivate staff to work together as one team
• Ability to Situationally Lead individuals on varying tasks; demonstrate a flexible style appropriately.
• Proficient with computer (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


• Preferred minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience with a preferred minimum 1 year in a supervisory role
• Experience in a lean manufacturing environment as a buyer/planner, manufacturing engineer, process/quality engineer and/or manufacturing manager preferred.
• Proven track record driving measurable/sustainable improvements.
