Job description, responsibilities and duties
Purpose of the position
The Head of Software Development Kistler Bratislava (Head of KBL) is responsible for leading and managing the location Kistler Bratislava consisting of approx. 120 employees. Based on the strategies of the group and the business units (BUs), Head of KBL supports the realization of the necessary software product roadmaps and ensures together with his/her team an effective implementation of it. He/She also supports the BUs and the group-wide TEC platform in the portfolio development of software products, moreover also the improvement and introduction of processes and procedures in coordination with corporate software and TEC management. He/She will lead the change to foster a mindset of positivity and proactivity among Kistler employees in Slovakia.
Main Tasks
- Defining, communicating, leading and executing a vision for Kistler Bratislava and connected satellite offices
- Personnel and technical management of the local team
- Acting as a General Manager for the location with legal responsibility towards local authorities including decision taking
- Continuous improvement of the work processes including consistent reporting
- Participation in cross-location strategic projects of the TEC competence center software
- Alignment of the location (resources, skills & methods) to match the needs of the corporate strategies.
- Matching the best resources (internal & external) and skills to keep the development commitments with regards to the Kistler portfolio
- Close collaboration and understanding of HR processes (legal + internal), active participation on interviews/ employer branding/ retention
- Involvement into daily business of different departments ( HR, Marketing, Finance, ICT, Admin )
- Networking and collaboration with relevant stakeholders meet and prioritize the development needs
- Planning of PLC projects and related resources
- Increase and keep the employee satisfaction and spirit to establish Kistler as a leading employer in Slovakia
- Participation in expert groups & representation of Kistler Slovakia towards internal & external stakeholders

Personality requirements and skills
- (Technical) university degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or natural sciences.
- Several years of management and project leadership experience, ideally in a SAFe environment
- 7+ years of experience in the software industry, if possible in an international environment
- Good understanding of agile processes in software development and business
- Exceptional managerial, leadership and organisational skills
- Ability to understand complex use cases and simplify them with/for internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrable solution-oriented entrepreneurial thinking and acting
- Proactive communication & ability to work in a team
- Excellent presentation skills & strong soft skills such as communication ( used to speak in front of public & represent the company), critical thinking, etc.
- Strong identification with Kistler values
- Basic knowledge about finance, budgeting, cost control
- Fluent in written and spoken English (German an advantage)
