Job description, responsibilities and duties

Queensway Europe is a fast-growing operator of franchise restaurants in Central and Eastern Europe with exciting plans to scale their KFC business over the next ten years. The restaurant count has grown from 10 two years ago to 20 KFCs, 11 in Austria and 9 in Slovakia. With no plans to slow the pace of growth, the business is looking for an HR Business Partner who is ready to help us build our team and culture to support this business growth.

The role:

Reporting into the Head of People who sits across both countries, you'll take ownership of People & Culture in Slovakia, contributing to the HR strategy and playing a crucial role in executing it. You’ll partner with our Head of Operations, Area Coaches, Restaurant General Managers, and Recruitment team to deliver an amazing employee experience that drives business performance and supports growth.

On a day-to-day basis, you'll:

  • Build deep and trusted relationships with your key stakeholders so that you become a credible advisor
  • Develop quarterly people plan to drive improvement across Slovakia on key HR metrics (e.g., employee turnover, engagement, training and development etc.)
  • Participate in the interview process for internal and external management candidates
  • Create recruitment and training plans for new store openings in partnership with
operations management and the recruitment team
  • Partner with the recruitment team to develop our employer brand across the country
  • Ensure a seamless onboarding experience that gets new employees off on the right foot
  • Lead talent management processes, including workforce planning, performance management, development and succession planning
  • Design, adapt, and deliver training and leadership development programmes that close skill gaps and help our team members and managers reach the next level
  • Lead employee engagement survey and action planning to ensure our culture is alive in every restaurant
  • Regularly be present in restaurants and connect with our team members so they feel comfortable sharing honest and open feedback with you related to their experience
  • Manage compliance with Slovakian labor law and lead any required investigation and problem solving when issues arise

Background:

You must have at least 3 years of experience as an HR business partner, ideally within a rapidly growing company and/or the hospitality industry. You will have a demonstrable track record working with leaders to achieve results. We'd also like you to be:

  • A confident communicator, comfortable talking to people of any level, whether it’s in person, on the phone or in writing. You understand how best to adapt your approach to your audience
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented and ready to roll up your sleeves and get things done
  • Speak fluent English (min. B2 level) and Slovak
  • University degree in gastronomy, HR, business administration or related field
