What you will do

Johnson Controls is looking for an experienced software solutions architect with knowledge of cloud and software development. Knowledge of IoT protocols and applications in smart building systems is strongly preferred.

You will be working with customers to connect their building systems to our OpenBlue IoT platform, transform and process that data in the cloud and at the edge using analytics/machine learning approaches.

You possess a deep understanding of solution design and implementation details and will successfully represent the technical team to senior leadership, customers and partners. Your technical expertise and operational excellence will influence the team’s decisions and drive secure and robust solutions.

How you will do it

• Drive implementation and delivery of large-scale enterprise customer projects

• Provide technical leadership to coordinate, prioritize and deliver solutions

• Enable customer commitments while providing leadership on platform evolution and maturity

• Understand service inter-dependencies and lead cross-functional teams towards technical solutions for multi-tiered systems

• Articulate program goals, desired outcomes, risks/issues and mitigation plan clearly

• Support and improve existing customer projects with thoughtful and measurable impact

What we look for

Required

• 5+ years experience as engineering lead and architect delivering sophisticated software projects

• Experienced in developing integration pipelines using APIs and SDKs

• Deep knowledge of cloud IoT platforms (MS Azure is preferred)

• Overview of IoT protocols and applications

• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and Helm

• Familiar with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (Terraform e.g.)

• Knowledge of C# or Java, and strong programming skills in Python

• Experience with SQL and multiple Relational Database Management Systems

• Demonstrable knowledge and skills with security, authentication, and authorization in distributed systems and the web

Preferred

• Familiar with BIM modeling, digital asset management and BRICK schema

• Expertise in building technologies e.g. BMS, VMS, ACS, Fire and Lighting and occupancy

• Experience with HVAC or Industrial Control systems

• Experience with GraphQL is a plus

• Experience with graph store, document store and heterogeneous data indexing

The gross monthly salary for this position starts from 2500 EUR per month, plus a monthly bonus that starts after your first 6 months. Please note this is a minimum salary and our compensation packages are based on your professional experience and qualifications.
