The Collaboration Messaging Lead is responsible for the design, architecture, development, strategic operations and supportability of the Global Messaging Platform. The position plays a critical role in the configuration and oversight of daily operations of the platform to ensure the overall heath and operations of the environment.


 

 
What you will do

You will be responsible for Microsoft Exchange, Skype, Outlook, Teams, instant messaging, unified communication, unified messaging, local and server archiving, presence, template customization, mail routing and hygiene.

This role includes also customizations for Skype VoIP and Video Plug-In and application integration, mass mailing, ID Vault and ID management, Legal Hold and eDiscovery activities.

Additional responsibilities include Level 3 support, Vendor Management, capacity planning, and problem & change management.

 

How you will do it

 

Your main tasks will include:

  • Vendor Cloud Management for Office 365 and specifically, Exchange and Skype online services following vendor policies and aligning to Management Strategy and Policies.
  • Follow the Architecture & Engineering process, which includes Service Design, Build and Management of all new initiatives.
  • Maintain an understanding of all current and emerging collaboration and messaging technologies.
  • Identify and assume an ownership role of messaging and collaboration platforms and related projects across the enterprise.
  • Provide leadership and act as a mentor and provide support to technical personnel for any/all issues regarding service architecture, operation, design and implementation.
  • Stay current on regional application and infrastructure projects to maintain effective availability and global consistency amongst regional infrastructure and configuration.
  • Act as liaison between architecture team, service operations team and vendor to provide transparency on operations, service descriptions, future projects, activities, business requirements and technical concerns of initiated projects.
  • Help define collaboration strategy, roadmaps, service descriptions, support requirements and platform management
  • Ensure that third party solutions follow standards.
  • Provide senior management and general staff with accurate and complete status information and ongoing platform metrics.
  • Sponsor, orchestrate and implement technology pilots in order to evaluate emerging technologies and their applicability in support of business requirements and strategic goals.
  • Acts as an internal consultant to IT and the business.
  • Adhere to all current Change and Problem management policies and procedures.

What we look for

 

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or related experience in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Messaging platforms and preferably Exchange Online.
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience, designing, implementing and production support of large-scale, global LAN/WAN messaging, unified communications and collaboration environments.
  • Professional certification in support of Microsoft and other technologies is desired.
  • Knowledge or familiarity with ITIL processes and methods.
  • Vendor and Cloud Management experience preferred in large global corporate environments.
  • Strong project management skills and communication skills
  • A proven track record of driving the delivery of large, complex messaging and collaboration projects.
  • Willingness to travel to support job responsibilities as required. 

Preferred

  • ITIL Foundations certification preferred.
  • A broad range of knowledge desired, including experience with:
    • Exchange / Outlook / Mobile Mail / SMTP
    • Voice over IP
    • Voice and Video communication technologies
    • IP Networks
    • Application Analysis
    • Firewalls and Security Devices
    • Active Directory Authentication Integration
