Substance & Materials Compliance Specialist

What you will do
The Substance & Materials Compliance Specialist conduct research and provide feedback for customers’ requests regarding substances information in products sold by Johnson Controls. This is done based on information from an internal compliance database, knowledge and advanced analyzes/researches. The Substances Compliance Analyst also monitor  changes  in global substances regulations around the globe, like the European REACH and RoHS and similar for other regions/countries to ensure  that Johnson Controls compliance tools are reflecting and adhering to the latest applicable regulations. The Substance Compliance Analyst is the group’s main contact person for substances and material knowledge.

How you will do it
•  Providing substances declarations to Johnson Controls customers, based on requests from various sources.
•  Analyzing relevant products for substances compliance status. The status can be partially checked in an internal database, be resolved after contacting internal sources within the business unit (engineering, procurement or manufacturing) or by research based on chemical/material knowledge.
• Monitoring for changes to existing substances regulations and informing the team/business in case of an impact. Monitoring for upcoming substances regulations updates – globally – impacting company’s businesses and inform about these changes appropriate internal contacts.
• Supporting the substances compliance team and other internal teams with the knowledge and results of various analysis or searches
• Contributing to company’s compliance process definition, organize substance compliance process flows, and raise an issues as needed to management.
• No supervisory authority, but must exercise judgment and initiative in communications with JCI suppliers and customers – globally. 
• The quality of information provided to customers, depends significantly on the communication skills of the Compliance Analyst and the persons analytic skills.
• Customer relationships are either sustained or damaged by the communications of Compliance Analyst, at working levels, so a high standard of verbal and written communications, including tact and company awareness, are essential.

What do we look for


Required
• Engineering; academic knowledge or work experience
• Knowledge of substances and substances in materials
• An understanding of the chemical impact on products
• Some work experience in an office environment
• Higher oral and written communication skills in English


Preferred
• Understanding of environmental/substances compliance regulations such as European REACH and RoHS substances regulations
• Related work experience 
• Experience or natural aptitude communicating with external companies 


 

Starting from 1100EUR/month gross (plus a 13th month salary) based on relevant experience
