Operations Manager

What you will do
Under general direction, leads the COE Application Engineers in their support of the sales team. Ensures that assigned projects are executed profitably, accurately, on-time, within the scope of the contract and in alignment with customer expectations.  Assigns and ensures the proper balance of pre and post sales activities is maintained to meet overall customer expectations. Provides mentoring and support on processes and best practices and the Johnson Controls order execution process.
 
Provides for resource planning, cost allocations, and proper staffing levels to meet customer demand.  Support the completion of all activities in a manner consistent with the ISO9001:2015 process documentation.   

How you will do it

  • Manages the overall performance of assigned COE Application Engineers.
  • Establishes goals and development plans for all direct reports. Evaluates employee performance, performs salary management and promotes team development.
  • Recruits COE Application Engineers with the appropriate skills and competencies to meet the needs of the business and our customers.
  • Follows up on customer satisfaction issues and drives resolution. Provides leadership by demonstrating focus on achieving customer satisfaction.
  • Develops and builds relationships between the COE Application Engineers and their assigned Account Execs, contractors, customers, consultants, and vendors.
  • Develops and implements a formal technical training program for each of the COE Application Engineers.
  • Ensures COE Application Engineers provide proper support and coordination with the other sales support team members.
  • Acts as the first level of escalation for any issues related to: design quality and correctness, design delivery, cost allocations, and customer satisfaction.
  • Systematically reviews the COE Application Engineers’ estimates, proposals, selections, as well as engineering submittals, and documentation, etc.  Where issues are noted develops and implements a plan to address the immediate issue and share the best practice to all members of the team.
  • Evaluates the relationship skills of the COE Application Engineers.  Gathers feedback from Account executives, customers, vendors, corporate and other branch employees to identify soft skill gaps.  Where gaps are identified develop a plan to address the immediate issue and share the best practice to all members of the team.
  • Effectively communicates process problems, warranty trends, systemic delivery issues to the appropriate corporate leadership.  Participates in review sessions and feedback groups.
  • Monitors the KPIs for all projects within the team, analyzes root cause and teams with all appropriate people to implement corrective action.
  • Monitors and Supports COE Application Engineer teams in all of their assigned duties.

What we look for
  • 7 or more years of progressively more responsible operations management
  • People management experience: Demonstrated ability to manage a team successfully
  • Ability to engage with senior stakeholders
  • Project management experience is preferred
  • Preferably electrical or mechanical background
  • Possesses a high-level competence in written and verbal communication. Able to travel based upon geographical locations of assigned teams.  
  • Candiate who can also speak German or French would be preferred 
  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail.  
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.  
  • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage a large and diverse number of projects with professionalism, cooperation and persistence.


Starting from 2300EUR/month gross (plus a 13th month salary) based on relevant experience*
