Process engineer (T&F Line Engineer)

A Manufacturing Engineering T&F Line Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of all inputs and outputs into a line of the T&F production facility, including launch activities, current car activities and process creation. Reporting to the lead engineer, the line engineer will lead a team of hourly associates within their relative area of responsibility to continue to ensure standards are met and continuous improvement activities are driven into mass production. The line engineer will work closely with support departments such as PVT, MP&L, ME facility and production team to drive quality, efficiencies and remove waste across the production processes. They will lead problem solving, cost improvements and quality outputs to their customers.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Use of engineering & program tools (ENOVIA, WERS Concerns & Alerts, Proficy, Team Centre…, etc.)
• Lead & support multi-disciplinary teams in pursuit of complex technical solutions.
• Application of lean manufacturing and design for manufacturing principles.
• Planning, implementation and updating of all written processes for manufacturing.
• Design reviews and interface with Product Engineering/PVT to ensure optimized design for manufacturing
• Analysis for manpower & capacity planning. Line balancing, efficiency and utilisation improvement.
• Maintaining and implementation of all tooling, jigs and fixtures for manufacturing.
• Ensure all engineering changes are compliant with corporate and regulatory. Conducting line trials and process audits, communication to production teams.
• Lead continuous improvement activities, using lean manufacturing principles such as kaizen, 5S, Poke Yoke, round by round, 5F etc…
• Create & maintain manufacturing documentation PFMEA, Control Plan, GSPAS process
• Detailed and robust problem-solving using problem solving tools and methods
• Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:
• Relevant previous experience of Manufacturing / Engineering processes, tools and techniques
• Good level of English language to have the ability to present in senior forums and to engineering teams in the UK.
• Experience in the application of a logical approach to Problem Solving and problem-solving tools
• Computer literacy – Microsoft office
• Knowledge of PFMEA/Control plan/ or other manufacturing documentation
