Group Leader Body Chassis Engineering PVT & Launch

OPPORTUNITY

This role will be responsible for problem resolutions for Vehicle Line activities in all aspects of current car engineering from the resolution of engineering issues, monitoring quality systems, through to design improvements and model year updates. The aim is to achieve targets in all areas. Ultimately, the role will drive activities to deliver Quality targets for each vehicle line.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Based in the Nitra manufacturing plant with key interfaces into the New Model Programme Launch Managers, Plant PVT Manager, Nitra Plant Leadership and the EBC CoC Senior Quality Manager.
• The Body Chassis Launch and PVT Leader is the key representative from the department in the vehicle launch and current production environments. The Body Chassis Launch and PVT Leader will also work in close partnership with the relevant Body Chassis Project Leader, and body chassis modules teams, building a strong and cohesive management team.
• The Body Chassis Launch and PVT Leader is responsible for leading all aspects and deliverables of a vehicle launch relating to the vehicle Body & Chassis systems through Launch Exit and sustained in current production. Within this role it will be key to ensure learning is shared with other products being launched around the world.
• The Body Chassis Launch and PVT Leader is also responsible for managing the plant-based EBC team which covers the following:
• Be first point of contact for any engineering issues identified in plant and coordinate necessary responses
• Drive the implementation of Engineering fixes for ‘as released’ design issues
• Confirm and enact the emergency response actions
• Coordinate implementation of interim containment actions (ICA) and permanent correct actions (PCA) - liaising with relevant Homebase engineer(s)
• Provide information or data back to Homebase engineering to enable them to root cause and prove resolution of an issue
• Provide engineering input in Manufacturing forums on behalf of Homebase engineering.
• Support Homebase engineering with technical input from plant
• Providing the interface between the Core Engineering teams, Parent / Sister Plants, Manufacturing, STA, Suppliers, Launch Team & Service.
• Lead the development of your team, ensuring skills and capabilities are continuously reviewed to match the role needs and furthering our customer satisfaction

Essential:

• Previous experience of Vehicle Launch or Plant Vehicle operations Production Management at a senior level including consistent delivery of problem resolutions in Manufacturing
• Extensive experience of managing multi-skilled teams in multi-shift operations in Manufacturing
• Experience of cross functional co-ordination capability in Engineering, Manufacturing, Service and Quality
• Familiar with Define Measure Analyse Implement Control Replicate processes
• Knowledge of Quality Operating Systems procedures & deliverables
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred

Desirable:

• Microsoft package elements Power Point & Excel
• Experience and working knowledge of Health and Safety Audits and ergonomics including risk assessments
• Ability to deliver presentations to work groups and senior management
