Material Flow Packaging Analyst

The Packaging Analyst will support Plant Nitra with the identification of improvement opportunities around packaging (both financial, safety and quality improvements), and then work with suppliers to trial and the potentially implement those improvements – both physically and on the production systems. This role will be a mix of identifying opportunities through your own initiative, and reacting to issues found in production – you will then work with teams across the supply chain on issue resolution and implementation.

With responsibility for analysing supply chain data, developing process improvements and supporting the implementation of changes, the successful candidate will play a vital role in helping the Container/Packaging Team achieve budget and operational objectives to support JLR’s production plans.

To be successful in the role, it will be necessary to collaborate with other teams within JLR to understand the current systems and processes, perform analysis to identify the best use of JLR resources and identify improvements, develop business cases to justify future investments to increase packaging loops/quantity of containers, and support the buy off and trials of new packaging solutions with multiple stakeholders (quality, production, logistics operations, H&S).

You will need the confidence to go and engage new teams and understand their challenges/requirements, a hands on approach to ‘go-look-see’ when an issue is found to understand the problem, and the ability to communicate new ideas and encourage others to move away from some of their traditional methods. You will need the experience of working in Production/Logistics to understand the supply chain process from Supplier to Production delivery and the challenges that can be faced at each step, and the confidence to contact suppliers and build new relationships.

You will need the ability to organise yourself and manage multiple projects at once, to prioritise your workload which will be inconsistent and reactive to new issues, and then communicate your timing plans to stakeholders as it develops/changes.

RESPONSIBILITY:
• Support the local team with developing solutions and the resolution to packaging issues (resulting in damage or H&S risks to the associates)
• Work with suppliers to develop packaging solutions/improvements, organize/monitor trials and the implement the final solution if successful
• Update SAP with the latest correct packaging information so all teams are using the correct data
• Drive improvements in the packaging return loops to ensure we are maximizing the use of the business assets
• Develop business cases where required to support additional investment into packaging loops or packaging related issues / improvements
• Perform regular audits to check quality, monitor supplier compliance, and identify improvements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS:
Essential:

• Experience and knowledge of Logistics Planning, Operations and Processes
• Some experience of Project Management, reporting or organizing complex tasks
• Candidates must demonstrate drive, initiative and strong analytical skills, this is a hands on role and will involve spending time in the production environment to understand the issues/challenges
• Can form strong working relationships with internal and external parties
• Can manage and resolve a wide range of complex problems using problem solving tools
• Applicants must be computer literate and have knowledge of relevant business systems (e.g. Word, Powerpoint, Excel etc)
• Ability to plan and prioritise varying workload and demands

Desirable:

• Experience of Automotive or Manufacturing Logistics
• Experience of working with packaging development / repair or maintenance

Salary from 1283 Euro per month, depends on the skills and experiences of the candidate, 0-15% of gross base salary- paid annually, 13th salary, other benefits accordng toJLR rules.
