WHAT TO EXPECT
Technical Service Engineering provides a global technical interface between Engineering, Manufacturing and the National Sales Companies/Importers for both Jaguar and Land Rover. The quality driven department has assembly plant based teams primarily focused on vehicle find and fix processes. This encompasses any product concerns impacting Right First Time repair capability in the retailer network. In addition, the Technical Serive Engineering team provides technical support to NSCs, Regional Offices and importers around the world.

As Product Investigation Engineer you will eradicate all unplanned customer visits, by ensuring rapid fixes are created and we prevent reoccurrence. Using Jaguar Land Rover tools and processes, and working across a variety of teams, you will deliver solutions to our retailer network from 1-off to high volume fixes, in one market or globally. You will be responsible for the investigation, problem definition, resolution, and implementation of global technical solutions for early life failures and durability concerns of our products. You will act as the voice of the customer in a manufacturing plant and will own the lifecycle of each technical fix and communication to resolve market and customer concerns.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
As a Product Investigation Engineer you’ll have automotive experience in a technical role, and have sufficient hands-on experience to ensure an excellent knowledge of vehicle commodities and systems.
You will have a knowledge of company manufacturing/engineering processes, be proficient in Microsoft, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and be able to capture and diagnose vehicle data. You’ll be an individual who is results driven, demonstrates, tenacity, drive and perseverance, with the ability to deliver in a complex, highly demanding environment. You’ll be a good communicator who can deliver and communicate complex ideas from concept to implementation.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Monitor and analyse market data for Electronic Product Quality Reports, closed Technical Assistance reports and Road Side Assistance (RSA) reports for early life failures as well as longer term durability.
• Deliver clear and concise definition of customer issues into the company quickly and accurately.
• Support technical and escalation reviews and work with retailers & importers to resolve their concerns. Retailer visits maybe required.
• Capture data from vehicles in order to replicate and define the problem definition using SPD tool.
• Ensure Off Shore data analysis suppliers manage retailer report data to deliver data trend analysis.
• Ensure the content of TSB request/authoring management system (JIRA) is correct, complete and robust.
• Work with the Front Desk Engineering teams to determine local requirements (law, legislation) to implement robust fixes.
• Ensure repair solutions are validated and fit for service.
• Take appropriate action to provide solutions by ensuring appropriate robust service repair instructions are developed for our retailer technicians to follow quickly and correctly.
• Confirmation of issued repair solution are robust.
• Deliver closure analysis and prevent re-occurrence action for escalated customer concerns.
• Coordinate and lead C grade PI Technicians (where applicable).
