Popis práce

This role manages plant based supplier quality Engineers supporting the Manufacturing and Engineering teams with technical and Problem solving skills. This team is in place to provide support for supplier quality issues on site, liase with the supplier and the wider STA team , technical and problem solving to support JLR in managing and improving supplier performance in current model activities.

  • Lead Team of Senior Engineers who are supported by Shift Engineers / Line Inspectors in order to respond to supplied parts quality concerns as they arise, driving containment of issues within 24hrs and to achieve 8D problem resolution to D5 within 60 days. (as per JLR QOS 055)
  • In conjunction with the Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), escalate suppliers using the corporately recognised supplier escalation process, who do not respond appropriately to an issue/s in a timely and robust manner. (JLR QOS 088)
  • Establish a robust partnership with JLR’s 3rd Party Containment Company, ensuing safe working practices, quality of and robustness of reworks and containments.
  • Manage supplier related gate hold and Stop Ship activities.
  • Responsible for creating and delivering the D8 WCPA Sufficiency plans and reporting the process out at senior meetings.
  • Supporting the weekly Incoming Supplier Quality Management meeting escalating D8 Supplier Quality concerns where appropriate
  • Key point of contact and leader in all D8 Supplier Quality Concerns within the manufacturing facility.
  • Partners with cross functional teams to root cause and problem solve complex quality concerns.
  • Manage productive relationships with internal stakeholder and suppliers represenatives to drive robust problem resultion and ensure all escalated supplier manufacturing process releated issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Develop standards, processes and working methods to maximise skills of technical subject matter experts and spread learning throughout the wider STA team to drive our learning organisation vision. Standardise acrsoss all SPQ functions.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to maximise Supplier Technical Assistnace influence and ensure alignment with Purchasing processes and policy
  • Lead and develop the ongoing capability of all team members and associated department processes and activities to maximise efficicency and effectiveness
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

Požiadavky

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering gained at management level
  • A proven leadership track record in a manufacturing or technical environment
  • Broad experience of managing external stakeholder and supplier relationsip management
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship management skills and experience
  • Able to manage and execute complex projects on time and within budget
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to converse at all levels of the organisation and with external suppliers/customers
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experienced problem solver and strong advocate of Lean manufacturing
