Legal Counsel

This role provides the opportunity for an enthusiastic Slovakian qualified lawyer to work as part of a small and busy operational team in Slovakia, providing advice and direction regarding a wide variety of commercial issues but with a main focus on contractual and corporate issues. The successful candidate will be an adviser to the Jaguar Land Rover Slovakia business, providing solutions and legal advice mainly on commercial and corporate matters. He/she will report to the Senior Legal Counsel.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Advising, drafting, commenting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts
• Providing legal opinions, analysis on different legal issues
• Management of contracts
• Drafting new template documents, as required
• Drafting internal corporate documents
• Representing before the state institutions
• Active involvement in data protection agenda
• Involvement in transactions and administrative proceedings concerning real estates
• Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time

Essential:
Slovakian qualified lawyer
At least 5 years of experience gained at a large national or international law firm or in-house in a major corporate
Strong prioritisation skills, with an ability to juggle a large and varied workload
Fluent in English, including legal and business terminology.
Team player who is willing to take responsibility for their own workload, whilst providing assistance and support to other members of the team
Able to deliver quality, consistency and attention to detail in a complex, highly demanding environment;
Strong communicator with a proven track record of demonstrating logic and analytical thinking, combined with business focused and pragmatic advice
Comfortable challenging other members of the organisation with strong influencing and engagement skills - able to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style
Resilient and enthusiastic

Desirable:
• Strong experience in working in an automotive, engineering and/or manufacturing business.
• Experience of working with global companies, with high value and complex contracts.
• A passion for the automotive industry and the potential of automotive technology
• A passion to influence the future growth of Jaguar Land Rover

Permanent working contract, working directly for JLR.
