Logistics Senior Analyst

This role is to support and oversee the development & deployment of processes for the Logistics operation at the Automotive Plant in Nitra. These processes may cover the planning, execution and operational running of logistics activities, and should be aligned to the central groups governance.

To be successful in the role, it will be necessary to collaborate with other teams within JLR to understand the current systems and processes, map them, perform analysis to identify the right solution and potential risks/failure modes. Once defined, you will need to presentation and communicate the processes, and align them to central strategy. You will then support the plant team with the development of their local work instructions, and play a role in auditing them against those standards.

It is an exciting role, as you will be joining the plant team as they prepare to launch a new facility to build premium passenger vehicles. You will need the confidence to go and engage new teams, to communicate new ideas and encourage others to move away from some of their traditional methods. You will need the experience of working in Logistics to understand how processes work, so you can understand where and how changes/improvements could be deployed to improve those processes.

You will also need a fascination with new innovations, a hunger to go out and find the latest solutions, a willingness to build relationships with other organisations, and organised behaviours to ensure successful implementations and reporting.

Key Performance Indicators:
• A set % Auditing will need to take place every month at assess current performance against the standards agreed
• Project Plans for delivery of work instructions and processes will be aligned to key business milestones, and will be tracked against JLR Standardised systems
• All processes and instructions should be stored in a central database, and reviewed and improved annually

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
• Map Processes and Local Work Instructions with the local team and logistics provider
• Store and over-see the control of those processes in the central database
• Review existing processes annually to improve their performance, and share learnings and feedback with the central team
• Track and report status of process development in time for the plant launch in the Autumn of 2017
• Audit the local team against the processes to encourage adherence, and report on the results

Key Interactions:
• MP&L Plant Team in Nitra – to support development of local processes, and audit local performance
• Central MP&L Team in the UK – to ensure alignment to central strategy, and report out on local improvements and process adherence results, and audit local performance
• Local Logistics Provider - to support development of local processes
• Finance & Tax team – Report out on process adherence results

Essential:

• Significant experience and knowledge of Logistics Planning, Operations and Processes
• Some experience of IT Systems, ideally including MRP/WMS/ERP systems
• Some experience of Project Management, and Reporting
• Candidates must demonstrate drive, initiative and strong analytical skills
• Can form excellent working relationships
• Can manage and resolve a wide range of problems using problem solving tools
• Can effectively communicate at all levels within JLR
• Applicants must be computer literate and have knowledge of relevant business systems (e.g. Word, Powerpoint, Excel etc)
• Ability to plan and prioritise varying workload and demands
• Applicants must be flexible to support manufacturing build plans

Desirable:

• Experience of Automotive or Manufacturing Logistics
• Experience of developing or implementing new training/processes
• Experience of auditing teams against standards
