Job Description

We have an exciting role for trim & final manufacturing team.

Main responsibilities:

Take an active role in the design and development of automotive manufacturing processes, layouts and equipment in line with planning assumptions for new model introductions and existing operational manufacturing systems.
Liaison with key internal customers to ensure the Trim & Final layout conforms to their requirements, including Main Conveyor lines, Sub-assembly lines, Offices, workshops and operational support areas.
To assist the department manager with all aspects of programme activities - such as process / manufacturing system design and development, the organising and running of design reviews, layout reviews, permitting and problem solving.
Coordination of all new improvement programmes, including interface to Programme, Production and Construction teams.
Understand and deploy quality management system processes and procedures to support Plant accreditation and alignment with core JLR global systems.
Co-ordinate, on behalf of AME, the development and deployment of Media (Electricity, Water, Comms etc) requirements within the plant manufacturing strategy interfacing with the Construction team.
Work within and lead a small team of cross functional engineers, and ensure the objectives and deliverables assigned and agreed by the team are met.
Work with Programme teams and Production teams to ensure optimised design for manufacturing
Use of project management techniques to develop and control schedule, cost, risk and change management.
Use of project management control tools to lead the delivery of varying projects.
Manage progress and drive resolution of issues through project design to final buy-off.
Ensure value for money solutions are sought for all engineering changes, product and facility driven.

Prerequisites

▪ Experience of automotive manufacturing technical planning
▪ Knowledge and direct experience of automotive manufacturing facilities and processes directly related to Trim&Final.
▪ Ability to present feasibility assessments, facts and recommendations clearly to a wide range of audiences
▪ Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office tools, AUTOCAD/ or other drawing SW is a must
▪ Strong communication skills
▪ Good working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
▪ Have the ability to work unsupervised (at times) to a set of objectives & targets.
