Job Description

Base salary 1675 € per month, depending on your experience and skills, yearly bonus 0-15% (paid yearly) and 13th salary

The Nitra Manufacturing plant forms a central part of Jaguar Land Rover growth strategy and has an important role in positioning Jaguar Land Rover as one of the leading automotive manufacturers and employers. With this opportunity and responsibility comes the need to elevate the wealth of stories from within the plant aligned to the company’s Corporate story pillars. To achieve this, stakeholder management, networking, and an understanding of what makes a compelling story are essential.

The Senior Communications Officer reports to the Nitra Corporate Affairs Manager providing dedicated support to deliver the communications strategy.

External Communications:
• Create and implement media communications plan for the Nitra manufacturing plant, aligned to the company’s core corporate communications strategy.
• Be the ‘story-teller’ at the plant bringing to life the wealth of story opportunities to both internal and external audiences.
• Leverage all product launch activities to elevate and build the reputation of Nitra, working alongside Global PR colleagues.
• Develop a broad variety of PR materials. i.e press releases, case studies, B-Roll, photography etc, to exploit opportunities to generate positive media coverage about Jaguar Land Rover’s successes and achievements and in doing so ensure a proactive presence on the desks of tier one media correspondents.
• Cultivate fruitful and engaged relationships with national and regional media to ensure continued reputational growth.
• Co-ordinating of all media and VIP visits & events onsite to generate positive media coverage.

Key Responsibilities include:

Government Affairs:
• Conduct research, monitor legislation and research political situation to see what changes and which trends might impact Jaguar Land Rover in the future.
• Supporting Nitra management team and wider Government Affairs on Slovak regulatory issues that have direct impact on the business.
• Prepare talking points and represent the organisation at industry forums and events.

Internal Communications
• Support the development and implementation of the Nitra Internal Communications strategy designed to drive up employee engagement, business awareness and deliver a comms led approach to bring about improvements in SQDCPE.
• Responsibility for organising of large scale internal communications activities i.e Town Halls and Team Talk Monthly sessions.
• Monitor, research, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of Jaguar Land Rover internal communications, making appropriate improvements and recommendations.
• Support the development of digital communications and publishing, designed to enhance productivity and access to communications, as well as to maximise value of employee advocacy through social platforms.

Prerequisites

• Excellent communication skills – both spoken and written
• Must be able to produce communications which is relevant and comprehendible for all levels of the company
• Excellent media handling skills
• Commercially astute – used to working in a business environment
• Able to negotiate and influence at a senior level within the organisation
• Knowledge of key communications and engagement practices – both tactical and strategic
• Experienced in events management
• Strong ability to organise self, and prioritise workload in order to meet tight deadlines
• A good level of IT competence is required in programmes such as Excel, Word and Power Point
