Senior safety coordinator

The Purpose of the Job:
This role will contribute to the for the review, development, implementation and monitoring of Jaguar Land Rover’s Health and Safety management systems, process and policies to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and associated regulations. Support Health and Safety Manager in supporting plant management during preparation, planning and carrying out construction activities, investment activities, repairs and maintenance mainly during plant shut down. Providing role of Safety coordinator to the legislation and corporate requirements. Developing H&S requirements and standards for external companies working for JLR.
Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the overall safety coordination on site, define the H&S Strategy, define the H&S Standards and prepare a H&S plan for construction of the plant, non-routine activities like construction activities, repairs, maintenance, technology installation and change, plant shut down activities
• Contribute to the monitoring, evaluation and review of existing, new and upcoming Health and Safety legislation and ensure the systems and processes meet legal compliance
• Work with cross functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives in the management of Health and Safety as directed
• Identify the standard for risk assessments, method statements and pre-job meeting for external contractors works
• Check and approve risk assessments, method statements and other H&S documents of external companies working for JLR
• Elaboration of H&S plans for JLR non-routine activities like construction activities, repairs, maintenance, technology installation and change, plant shut down activities
• Carry out health and safety inspection and audits on the workplaces especially for contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with all legal and JLR health and safety requirements
• Lead and ensure that coordination meetings are held for each non-routine activities like construction activities, repairs, maintenance, technology installation and change, plant shut down activities
• Maintain appropriate records in compliance with legal requirements and notices to authorities
• Participate on investigation of accidents and near-misses including root cause analysis and accidents committees
• Carry out internal H&S Trainings for external companies
• Determine requirements for permit to work system for external companies working in JLR premises
• Providing guidance and ensuring compliance with legal and other regulation for safety of technical equipment and determining professional qualification for operators, preparation of training matrix and ensuring suitability of training provider
• Develop and implement Lock out, tag out system in the plant
• Develop and implement health and safety system for non-routine activities like construction activities, repairs, maintenance, technology installation and change, plant shut down activities
• Prepare analysis and statistics, recordkeeping, monthly reporting
• Undertake any other work as directed by H&S manager in connection with their job as may be requested
• Perform suppliers audits for health and safety management system
• Prepare and manage handovering of workplaces to contractors
• Prepare Agreements for cooperation of joint workplace as per §18 of Act no. 124/2006 Coll.
