Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to work for a new automotive Company in the Nitra region. The VCATS [Vehicle Configuration And Test System] team are part of the Maintenance department and support the electrical testing of the car and the validation of feature performance. The VCATS process downloads software to electronic modules on the vehicle and configures them to the correct vehicle specification, making the car saleable and ensuring it complies with market legislation. The team of VCATS engineers at each site takes responsibility for the provision of a whole-life test system from the start of a vehicle programme, through early build stages and on to volume production. Person in Maintenance department provide 100% availability of all equipment for VCATS tasks. Preparing all instruction for TPM and PM activities with VCATS equipment.

- Planning for the introduction(hardware and software) of new models and providing hands-on, track side support during early builds and launch phases with technical modification of testing equipment
- Working closely with manufacturing to ensure processes are optimized in terms of overall cycle time.
- Managing the introduction of new part numbers (hardware and software) resulting from engineering change and model year changes.
- Create and lead VCATS Cross Car Line activities, ensuring maximum VCATS cross plant commonality
- Provide support to the Production team in reducing the process time and improve quality and availability.
- Develop and run training courses for new members of VCATS team.
- This role is a Shift based role during Production.

Prerequisites

- Completion of college diploma or university degree in: / Robotic Engineering on a Bs or Ms level, ideally in an Automotive Manufacturing Technical Field with a preference to a Background with a Time served engineering apprenticeship or; Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Automotive/High speed automation
- Broad knowledge of designing, programming and maintaining robotics equipment, both Hardware and software. Understanding requirements for complex processing equipment for welding, dispensing, inline measurement systems and inspection
- Flexibility in working patterns and approaches to achieve overall business goals
- Ability to generate procedures for work and train new members of VCATS team
- In depth knowledge of Safety standards to be able to create risk assessments for industrial automation equipment
- Strong people management
- Pro-active strength of debugging and resolving key constraints, effective problem solving & root cause analysis using adequate toolsets
- Experience of specifying and installing new automation to realise productivity targets
- Develop strong effective working relationships with key customers, supplier companies and adjacent departments

- Pride, analytical ability, organizational skills and attention to detail and ability to take tremendous responsibility

- Good knowledge of Google & MS Office Applications (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word and Project)
- Proficient English and Slovakian language skills
