Accounts Payable Accounting Specialist – with Home based work contract option

PURPOSE
You will be responsible for processing Accounts Payable (AP) transactions through PeopleSoft / SAP / Oracle Financial system in accordance to standard operating procedures (SOP), Service levels agreements (SLA), Sarbanes-Oxley Controls (SOX).
You will be delivering AP services and process expertise to our internal / external clients in a global shared service environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Process AP invoices in ERP systems in required quality and efficiency
• Contact vendors, internal requestors and other departments as necessary to request missing information and / or update invalid data
• Resolve issues preventing payments, responding to internal / external inquiries on AP related matters
• Meet given targets and SLAs
• Identify, track and report accounting data accurately and follow-up on routine issues flagging non-standard issues to line manager and make suggestions for improvement
• Cross team and cross functional cooperation, good team collaboration as required ensuring that the group meets all SLAs and targets.
• Develop, implement and maintain instructions and procedures for functional roles
• Other activities related to AP – reporting, SOX / business control, audit support, subledger to ledger reconciliation
• Data / Process Analysis
• Suggest and drive process improvements / standardization / simplification / changes implementation
• Active participation on projects and other initiatives – with focus on automation

• Minimum 2 years job relevant experience
• Fluent English
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems (SAP or Oracle)
• Knowledge on AP processes
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail with high degree of intellectual curiosity, accurate and efficient data entry / data handling skills.
Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple work requirements to meet deadlines.
• Ability to exercise judgment within procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and clients
