Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
Under the general supervision of the Senior Project Assistant and direct supervision of Emergency Coordinator in cooperation with Project Team, the incumbent will have the following duties and responsibilities:
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the implementation of the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities.
2. Assist in the recruitment process of Psychosocial Mobile Teams Members.
3. Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget related information.
4. Support administrative coordination of project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
5. Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery and bringing them to the attention of the supervisor.
6. Draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other forms of documentation.
7. Collaborate with all IOM units to identify opportunities for the programme
8. Participate in meetings and conferences, e.g. MHPSS Technical working group meetings; maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
9. Assist in the preparation of correspondence, briefing notes, presentations, narrative and financial reports.
10. Assist and provide guidance to junior staff.
11. Provide clerical assistance on the preparation of proposals and activities reports as required.
12. Perform other related duties as assigned.

General Staff (GIV, UN Salary Scale valid for the Slovak Republic since 1 Jan 2009). Step one of the salary scale corresponds to brutto 1220 EUR per month (net payment of 1070 EUR - income is exempted from taxation).
