Office of the IOM International Organization for Migration in the Slovak Republic is seeking for a candidate for the position of Project Assistant - Case Worker in Košice. Under the general supervision of the Head of Office (HoO) and the Head of Integration Unit the successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of activities implemented in the framework of Integration Program in Košice supported by the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic. The main objective of the Program is to enable effective social and economic integration through the provision of comprehensive assistance and services in accordance with relevant international instruments.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
Under the overall guidance of the Head of Office (HoO), the successful candidate will be responsible for assistance in the implementation of all project/s activities. Specifically, s/he will:

1. Provide comprehensive integration services to persons resettled to Slovakia including daily assistance, development of individual reintegration plans, provision of cultural orientation training, arrangement of language and vocational training for resettled persons, arrangement of social and health services
2. Provide case management and advise on further labour market integration activities related to job development and job coaching
3. Monitor and evaluate individual reintegration plans on weekly basis
4. Prepare records on individual cases and maintain client’s folders
5. Assist in establishing and maintaining program-related contacts/liaison with relevant stakeholders (e.g. Embassies, government and public offices, NGOs, suppliers of services, partner organisations, etc.) in the Slovak republic and abroad
6. Assist in evaluation and reviewing of the program progress, including financial monitoring of the relevant budget expenditures in order to ensure effective planning of activities
7. Assist in the preparation of periodic and final reports to the donor, including filing and preparation of supporting documentation
8. Actively participate in the meetings of the project team, as well as attend official meetings and appointments if needed
9. Act as interpreter/translator (Slovak-English, English-Slovak)
10. Perform general office maintenance tasks including correspondence, market surveys, logistics
11. Develop information materials and other supporting documents for target groups
12. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the HoO

Personality requirements and skills

Required qualifications, experience and skills:
 Master's degree in Social Work / Psychology or similar
 Minimum two years of experience of social work / counselling or relevant direct work with beneficiaries - an advantage
 Good orientation in social, labour and migration law of the Slovak Republic
 Experience with providing direct assistance, case management, support and intervention, there will be a strong focus on promoting mental / physical health and well-being to this service user group, and a definite focus on social / labour market inclusion
 Experience working with migrants, culturally diverse environment – an advantage
 Very good communication, negotiation, analytical and organisation skills
 Flexible, reliable team player with proven networking, negotiation, and partnership building skills
 Ability to function effectively and harmoniously in a fast-paced, cross-cultural work environment;
 Demonstrated gender awareness and gender sensitivity
 Personal commitment, efficiency and drive for results
 Experience in developing and implementing activities related to integration issues- an advantage
 Experience in working with governments, civil society and the private sector
 Knowledge of migration and integration issues
 Language skills: Excellent command of spoken and written English and Slovak languages, Russian and/or Arabic language is an advantage
