IT Infrastructure Specialist

The IT Infrastructure Specialist will assess, configure, and maintain infrastructure related systems to ensure they meet IA’s business needs.
An essential goal of this role will be to achieve maximum network and server uptime and provide fast, reliable, and secure connectivity for all InoBat Auto users.

Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain in-house and remote network devices, appliances, storage, and servers across the organisation’s network
• Install, configure, and support LANs, WANs, VMs, virtual networks, wireless networks, servers, and storage
• Work on servers, routers, switches, including Proxy Servers, DNS and DHCP Servers, SQL Server and other network devices and services keeping them updated and secure
• Act as second line and potentially third line support for all network related matters and undertake any network fault investigations needed
• Provide ongoing, real time operational support working internally within IT and with other internal stakeholders
• Help to maximise infrastructure performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network/server problems and outages
• Secure network systems by implementing policies, and defining and monitoring access
• Carry out and ensuring backup and recovery functions
• Support and configure routing and switching equipment, hosted IP voice services and manage firewall rules in line with company policy
• Support the IT Manager Voderady to design and implement new solutions and improve efficiency and resilience of the current network
• Recommend network products, services, protocols, and standards and where necessary be able to conduct feasibility studies for upgrades and improvements based on your existing and evolving experience
• Work with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to deploy and secure network products and services
• Liaise with project management teams, third-line engineers and service desk engineers as required
• Support the IT team by providing network and server operational statistics as part of the team KPIs

REQUIREMENTS:
• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar or related role, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Experience working on enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, VLANs, VMs, virtual networks with a good knowledge of current network protocols and standards
• In-depth knowledge of networking in general including advanced networking functionality such as IPS, load balancing, firewalling, and general security best practice
• Experience with network monitoring tools
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Highly self-motivated and directed.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Able to work well with people from all levels of an organisation
• Able to work under pressure and consistently delivery against competing deadlines
• Willingness and ability to travel to other InoBat Auto locations as required to perform job responsibilities
