About the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

This is a great opportunity to work in a challenging and rewarding environment in a forward-thinking company. We are looking for someone who is a good fit with our existing Tech group, who has excellent written and verbal communication skills, relevant experience as IT Support and/or Administrator (local L1 IT Service Desk, and who can work both as part of a team or independently. 

As a Service Desk Specialist, you can expect at ING the following:


  • Serve as a single point of contact for ING employees' IT-related problems throughout their whole lifecycle.
  • Provide first-line support through the call-logging software and on-site for all incidents and requests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve end-user desktop, hardware, software, and/or printing problems.
  • Perform general and/or custom PC configuration, installations, maintenance, relocations, troubleshooting, and upgrades
  • Reassign or escalate incidents and requests to on-site second-line support, third parties, or other teams where appropriate discussing fully with colleagues.
  • Monitor and update all incidents and requests
  • Take care of IT hardware and IT lifecycle
  • Help with inventory check of IT assets
  • Participating in international projects within the company
  • Cooperation on global and local projects/migrations

Personality requirements and skills:


  • Previous hands-on experience as L1 IT Service Desk Administrator
  • Microsoft Windows Administration
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of Network Infrastructure components
– Ability to identify common devices (switches, routers, access points, patch panels, printers, etc.).
– Familiarity with IP addressing, subnets, default gateways, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi.
– Carry out instructions (e.g., restart device, swap cable, relocate equipment) precisely and reliably.
– Comfortable working in data rooms, network cabinets, or walking through office areas to verify physical setups

  • Having a drive for self-learning
  • Innovative thinking - bringing improvement ideas
  • Good command of English language (daily usage)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory is an advantage
  • Microsoft / ITIL certificates are an advantage

Secondary with school-leaving examination
Follow-up/Higher Professional Education
University education (Bachelor's degree)
