About the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

ING COO Data Operations is responsible for consistent delivery and operationalization of data capabilities. External Data Management consists of activities around Demand Management and activities around Data Operations. It is our purpose to enable access to External Data in an efficient and compliant manner. ING Bank consumes external data for use in various processes such as know your customer, know your supplier, risk assessments and others.

Your role and work environment


As an External Data Demand Manager, you are responsible within ING to manage demand for global contracts of externally bought data by collaborating between Business, IT and Procurement cross domain and business lines.
You act as a trusted advisor for our business partners, advising them on the most efficient external data products for their requirements.
During the contract lifecycle you review and challenge the global inventory of products and contracts. This involves pro-actively collaborating with the business to improve efficiency in cost and delivery while maintaining or improving compliance within the licensed terms of the owner.
As demand manager you will take ownership of the following product categories:
  • Data Feeds and Terminals
  • 3rd Party Licenses (Exchanges, Brokers, Indices)
  • Party, Rating, Research and News data
You liaise with the Expertise Lead external data and procurement to define improvements in strategy, vendor selection, IT architecture and service delivery.

Your key responsibilities:


  • Challenging external data spend by monitoring and translation of usage data into actionable business cases
  • Leading translation of business requirements into a set of proposed solutions when multiple stakeholders are involved
  • Maintaining an overview of product details in our External Data Product Catalogue
  • Execution of external data audits of 3rd parties
  • Seeking cost saving initiatives by optimizing the portfolio of external data contracts
  • Providing input on strategic vendor selection
  • Identifying and resolving gaps in external Data contracts

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1)

Experience:


  • Experience with vendor or supplier management from banking/fianance industry is welcome.
  • Proven understanding of the market data environment
  • Experience with working in highly complex international environments
  • Capable to be a (sparring) partner for all business lines and functions on senior level
