About the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

Your role and work environment:

You will be operating in the very heart of the ING Bank COO organisation. Our global Risk & Control Expertise Center is responsible for leading the integration and the simplification of the existing non-financial risk control frameworks in close cooperation with business and risk function.

You can expected to:

  • Work proactively with 1st Line of Defence and 2nd Line of Defence and value chain owners to ensure a sound internal control environment in area of Non-Financial Risk as well as IT.
  • Drive risk management execution and control processes and facilitate corrective actions if necessary
  • Plan and perform key control testing on design and operating effectiveness of various frameworks including IT ones
  • Implementing the security rules and performing regular risk assessment for the domain, proving advisory and raising organization awareness
  • Maintenance and monitoring of complete oversight of risks and controls (including the outsourced ones) of the assigned NFR frameworks, IT business assets, processes, or products
  • Identify strategic capabilities that will support and increase knowledge sharing and replication of internal control best practices within ING Bank globally
  • Contribute to the development of control frameworks aligned with ING Bank’s Policies, Standards, and business process.

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1)

Personality requirements and skills

  • 3+ years’ relevant experience in the areas of Non-Financial and/or IT risk management, business controls, audit (preferably with experience from banking or financial services industry)
  • knowledge of IT frameworks is an advantage (Information security and IT infrastructure)
  • Business / Computer science or other relevant university Master degree
  • Relevant audit or risk / internal control certification is big plus
  • Have proven communication, convincing and advisory skills with the ability to work at all levels in the organization (a track record in project management is advantageous).
  • You are professionally sceptic, outcome and solution driven
  • Proficient English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Team player who likes swimming in the waters of corporate matrix and likes networking
  • Strong work ethic combined with a structured and disciplined approach, resulting in ‘getting things done’.
