Job description, responsibilities and duties
ING is a global financial institution of Dutch origin offering banking and asset management to over 60 million private, corporate and institutional clients over 50 countries. The objective of the Key Control Testing (KCT) team is to assess the design and operating effectiveness of Key Controls with respect to their ability to sufficiently mitigate inherent critical and high risks that exists within ING. The team performs testing of both Non-Financial Risk (NFR) and IT controls and plays an integral role in managing the risk of ING as the design and operation of the key controls can prevent material events from occurring and going undetected.
The team performs testing on two levels:
• Test of Design Effectiveness (ToD): determining the proper functioning of controls by assessing whether the key control exists and is adequate to mitigate the identified risk
• Test of Operating Effectiveness (ToE): testing whether controls as defined in processes and procedures are effective over a specific period of time, in accordance with the design
You have already, or you are able to acquire, extensive knowledge level of your domain.
In practice this means you will:
• Identify improvement potential in the process and support the Circle Lead, Process Owner and global KCT Program Manager in preparing and implementing process improvements, lead quick fix initiatives,
• Improve quality of services by recommending, promoting and implementing (upon Process Owner approvals) process changes and improvements,
• Ensure proper and accurate WPIs are in place,
• Support knowledge retention and utilization for CLT and newcomers onboarding into the team,
• Provides feedback on identified inaccuracies and support awareness / training sessions at CLT level to close identified knowledge gaps,
• Consult with CoE on complex cases,
• Participate in all mandatory trainings on departmental or individual level and propose additional training needs on individual or team level.
