How are you contributing to ING?

You play an essential role in ensuring the good reputation of ING. You help to decide with which clients ING can continue doing business!

When it comes to Financial Economic Crime (FEC) ING is adamant about having solid procedures with regards to Knowing Your Customer (KYC). You help detect and prevent FEC risks, such as money laundering or terrorist financing, by identifying and investigating potentially suspicious transaction patterns. Thanks to you, we are sure that ING’s banking systems are only used for ethical purposes.

Follow the money!

You have an extensive knowledge level of KYC/FEC and specialized knowledge of post-transaction monitoring (PTM). You track money flows by monitoring client activity and controlling patterns in customer behavior. You prevent existing customers from using our banking services for unethical purposes, such as money laundering and terrorist financing.

In practice this means you will:
• Execute and deliver standardized PTM, as well as handle Alerts with the most complex difficulty level;
• Perform quality checks, act as Approver prior to submission of suspicious cases/UTE to MLROs and escalate Suspicious Activity Report (SARs) identified from PTM for potential external reporting;
• Acts as a SPOC for Rework of cases/alerts in case deficiencies identified by MLRO/Control Hub Specialists.
• Consult with Compliance on active complex cases.
• Advise the Team Lead on issues, risks, complaints, escalation items on an ongoing basis with details on causes and resolution proposals.
• Advise to 1LoD (Alert handlers/ Alert Investigators) regarding issues that concern the process, immediately react to, raise awareness and communicate possible compliance risks to SMEs.
• Work closely with other stakeholders by meaning of being pro-actively engaged in process improvement and monitoring.

Personality requirements and skills

For who is this?

For people with real detective skills. You have a nose for the legitimacy of a customer relation, dare to question unusual patterns and, when needed, sound the alarm.

• Your university degree or specialization allow you to make a sound analysis of key FEC risk exposure and informed risk-based decisions
• You are analytical, strong in problem analysis and have an eye for detail
• You have good understanding of financial crime threats, typologies and modi operandi
• You understand the EU Money Laundering Directive requirements
• It is a plus if you have at least 2 -3 years of experience handling investigations or in a related field. ACAM certification is a big plus
• You know how to communicate well and focus on the what is best for the customer. You can express yourself fluently in English (C1).
