Who are we looking for?

You are a pro-active and motivated professional with a good understanding of Non-Financial Risk Management from a First Line of Defense perspective, or convinces us is able to quickly acquire the knowledge required. You have an entrepreneur attitude and like to extend your scope of activities. You are organizational sensitive and are able to work under pressure. You are a real team player and recognize the importance of working together.

You must be able to understand and communicate in English (B2 level in speaking, listening, reading and writing).
You are willing to travel and as such support ING’s WB throughout different regions on-site.

Responsibilities & duties

As an Operational Control Specialist you are responsible for performing Key Control Testing from a First Line of Defense perspective. You will be entrusted with global control frameworks over several banking areas and processes, and will be responsible for the effective and efficient execution of Key Control Testing.

You are attentive to details to spot differences in processes that you are testing. You shall be able to analyze these differences and assess/propose best practices while considering compliance to global standards. You are able to implement changes to the different Key Control Testing process to achieve standardization. You will be part of the Control Hub.

Work environment

The Control Hub is responsible for performing Non-Financial Risk activities which are currently performed in the ING branches. The process of centralizing activities already started. Therefore we are looking for entrepreneurs not afraid of taking initiatives and will help to make this Control Hub a success. The Operational Control Specialist has contact with internal (international) parties to perform Key Control Testing.

In the Control Hub a local team will be build up including the hierarchical steering. You must be able to understand what the impact is of your activities on other departments and you are committed to agreements and procedures. At the same time you have a good understanding of what is expected from you including continuous improvement.

• Carries out Key Control Testing. Actively cooperates with internal (international) parties. Understands banking processes and is Non-Financial Risk ‘sensitive’.
• Work experience in Banking (or with Financial Services) or in Audit (within Bank or outside) is required.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office is a perquisite. Knowledge of a tool like iRisk is an added advantage
