About the position

ING is looking for a Know Your Customer Leader within Regulatory Operations Bratislava to support our Wholesale bank businesses.

ING is looking for a Team Leader with experience in operational management and/or working in a shared service environment. Numbers are your best friend and you have a fact-based approach. You dare question the status quo, have a change mind-set and an eye for improvements. You’ll manage a Customer Loyalty Team (CLT) of approximately 10 Analysts, who ensure that ING offers services and products to ethical companies only. On top of that you are a role model, showing ING’s Orange Code values, and you engage the team to be successful. Something for you?

You:
  • are responsible for the timely and accurate completion of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) files in the assigned portfolio, including customer on-boarding, renewals and event-driven reviews of customer files following business priorities
  • are responsible for leading your customer loyalty team (CLT) in the transformation to a self-steering organization, by leading by example, inspiring and encouraging team members in a new way of working and giving them autonomy and responsibility
  • are responsible for overseeing the work of the CLT, supporting the team in taking ownership of their planning and effectively balance their own workload
  • together with the team align and interact with the business and other stakeholders on workload, prioritization and escalating to the Super Circle Lead in case of issues
  • enhance the operational maturity and mind-set of your CLT and you support the team to propel their actions towards continuous improvement and learning organization
  • are responsible for supporting the CLT in taking ownership of their own development and for fostering team collaboration

Your team:
  • is the first line of defence against money laundering and terrorist financing
  • supports the Wholesale Banking to comply with the requirements of relevant legislation and regulation
  • performs non-financial risk assessment of Wholesale Banking customers
  • identifies the types of business relations and activities that a customer is likely to engage in
  • determines whether these relations and activities could be suspicious and expose the bank to potential financial loss or reputational risk

Thanks to you and your team ING knows it customer: knows how risky every customer is, how often the customer has to be reviewed and how far the research should go.

For people with strong leadership skills, a risk appetite and an operational management background. You have a nose for the legitimacy of a customer relation, an eye for process improvement and base your decisions on facts and figures.

  • Your university degree or specialization supports your focus on operational excellence and displays your talents for facts and figures
  • Your management experience in diverse environments enables you to make swift decisions
  • You have strong analytic and problem-solving skills, and preferably you have experience in operational excellence (e.g. Lean Six Sigma)
  • It is a plus if you have working knowledge of international banking business and products and experience with regulators
  • You are inspiring and a team builder displaying cultural sensitivity in coordinating interactions between different business units and teams.
  • You empower people through leadership, coaching skills and by acting as a role model
  • You have a proven ability to set team direction
  • You support ING in building expertise in the field of know your customer
  • You communicate well and focus on what is best for the customer. You express yourself fluently in English (C1) and you can deal with work pressure
  • You (optionally) have knowledge of FEC / AML policies
